Which knives would you pick for WWIII? (If it ever starts)

GEN CUT, it came factory sealed with a date code of '85.
That's an old picture and I actually bought it for my dad last Christmas, I consider it a good choice but obviously would have to buy myself one.
General Cutlery, the last contract for M7 bayonets. Not the hardest to find but uncommon. At one point in time I had examples from every maker.

Whatever the case is, we'll still need knives for same reasons we need them now, possibly even more since we might not always have the right tool for the job.
Agree 100 percent.

Now. May I have a chainsaw, where the teeth are all Forsaken Battle Mistresses?

Ww3 mall ninja approved.

What makes y'all think it gonna get all Max Max after a WWIII?

You will not find much historical evidence to back that up.

People of strong faith and strong character do not lose their morals in hours of darkness, some even find them there.

When all else is lost communities, families and individuals more turn toward each other, than against each other.

Some folks here need to get right with God, I know I do.

It’s the people that consider themselves “right with God” that I fear the most.
In any event, I would want my Skrama and Alox Farmer.

That is good, but also bad, because if government is taken down and so on... people will turn against each other, especially when hungry.
Personally I believe that all the sing in peace hold hands type will do their best to help each other, and the armed Patriots

Thanks for the info.
One of the coolest things to me about this was that It was sealed in it's packaging by a food packing company, definitely did a great job of keeping it minty fresh.

when an order falls
another will step in.
when there is no law
organise crime will thrive.
people who own the night
will own the day.
there will be no hiding.
safety is in numbers.
for or against?
your continued existence
can never be taken for granted
you will have to make harsh decisions
and try to keep your sanity
with a balancing act of moral judgment.
where in extraordinary times
no one is behaving normally.
we have to trust our own instincts.
always persevere to do what is right.
and hope for a future that is
not ruined by wrong decisions.
we are in the end, all answerable
for our action in one way or another.
the sword of justice must prevail.

In considering the different scenarios here, consider our current predicament. We didn't know how bad it would be at the outset but it sure had a lot of people panicking. Guns and ammo dried up in a lot of places. People went crazy on toilet paper and canned goods. Then we got lucky. The pandemic wasn't as bad as it could have been. Society could have done a better job but we managed to work together and look out for one another in a lot of places.

Look, we closed down a significant portion of our economy. Lots of people have been out of work or facing hard times. Now imagine what would have happened if the grocery stores didn't stay open...

Gen Cut was a secondary contractor on one of the last production runs.

You have the proper sheath for that. Don’t let anyone tell you different.

If you get a chance look at the webbing on the sheath. Some of the last production run have a red thread running down one side.

I knew the m10 was the proper scabbard for an m7 of this era, not sure I have heard about the red thread though.

Don't remember if it had it, I'll look at some point.

Amen.

You dont find growth, spiritual or otherwise, when things are comfy and stable.

You find it in the darkness.
Wise words. I believe a Stoic said something along similar lines. While we don’t deliberately go looking for trouble, if we aren’t thrust into dark times every now and then, we will never know what we are truly capable of.

Challenges don’t break a man. They reveal.

yes he's updated with the times since.
his opinions regarding knives are relevant...
"..choose the higher quality ones (and multi purpose if possible)...In one period of SHTF, most of the knife fights I saw were done with simple kitchen knives, and I assure you those knives did the job bloody good...".
and further states
"...What I am trying to say is, do not get yourself to romanticized into a certain type of knife- ... most knives will do the job, with the possible exception of a really cheap one..."

Yes, kitchen knives are with no surprise very effective at killing people. Almost any sharpened piece of metal will do honestly (prison shank).

But, knife is a very primitive weapon and in WWIII there'd be lots of high tech stuff, so it's rather poor weapon of choice unless you really got nothing else. And like the guy said here, even wounded - the guy you stabbed would still have time to mortally wound you before dying.

But at the other hand, knife is still a very capable tool for variety of things and that'd be your primary use of it. Simple example: Many knives can stab piece of meat just fine, but will bend or break when it comes to digging, prying or batoning.
"Right tool for the job" goes to drain when you only have 1 tool. Ideally, you'd have toolbox with you all the time, but in reality that'd be too heawy and too bulky.

So, primary qualities would be: Lightweight and tough.
