Which would you depend on no matter how tough the going ?

Another vote for the Becker BK-9. Tough as hell, great ergos.

My Busse BJCG beater won't fail me. That being said, I am more likely to have my $20 CRKT drifter in my pocket as it only leaves my side when I am on a plane.

Of all the knives I have, this one gets the most "Holy S#$*" when I pull it out and even more when the chips start flyin.

A smaller, slicier (is that a word?) variation in 52100 is in the works to be piggybacked :)

Hi All,

simple answer from my side: Cold Steel Trail Master or Cold Steel Recon Scout

Best regards,

Well, I haven't really beat the snot out of it yet...but I have beat the snot out of several other TOPS knives...and the upcoming, and oft looked forward to, zombie appacolypse is why I got this one :D

If a smaller knife is required I have a SRKW Rodent Solution that I picked up at blade that I am thinking will be pretty tough and should work really well for such a scenario...once I fix the edge grind. Right now it will only come into play if there is a serious need for a tactical butter knife ;)

Any one of these would do the job but the Steel Heart II (3rd from top) is my favorite.

Wow, is that ever a cool looking blade !!!!

This questions gets asked all the time, and to be honest, I have several dozen knives that will perform excellently under any condition.

I don't believe that I would buy an outdoors knife without first researching it for toughness, edgeholding and general reliability.

I too have some awesome knives but many are pretty much task specific, I would never pry with my thin bushcraft blades but that doesn't mean I haven't researched them and trust them to hold up to what they were designed for. My 3/32" stock Pitdog Mora from Mark Wohlwend is an awesome cutting tool and the L6 saw steel holds an amazing edge, would it stand up to prying and battoning through knotted oak.....no chance.
I think maybe you have misunderstood the post.

Spyderco endura is pretty stout....
Just messing with you, my boker vox rold is surprisingly tough, even though it's only 5mm of d2 (not known for toughness) I've hacked at some tough wood with it and its held up great.

Hey with the right heat treat D2 is damn tough stuff and can hold it's own with the best of them !

If i had to grab one knife it would be my Scrap Yard 711, but my Scrapivore is piggybacked to it so i'd really have two.

I am at work so no pics.. my "Pick one and no idea where I am going or how long I will be gone"- Koyote LBK.

No, I understood your post. It gets asked often enough, and I gave my answer. I have more than one knife that would fit the bill.

Based-on the multitude of brands and makers being posted, and the fact that I own many of the ones listed by people, I would say that most posters would agree that there is more than one out there.

I guess every question posed on this forum has no doubt been asked countless times before ! If anyone else on here is like me though I am constantly getting new knives so my answer will change as often as the wind !!!

To be honest though bud I can't remember this question being posed recently, I have seen ' Post your one knife ' or ' If you could only take one knife ' etc but they are not directing it towards your toughest knife. Maybe you could post up some of the threads posing this same question and I can check back through to see if I missed them.......thanks in advance.
