Who else EDCs a fixedblade?

Not possible?! Why not? If it's legal, who gives a damn what you carry on your person?
Bottom line is: if something is legal, it is YOUR decision to carry or not. If it is based on, and driven by, other people's perception of what you SHOULD carry, that's on you.
I say carry what you want (so long as it's legal) and let the general public get used to seeing it, and the fact that you aren't about to shank them at every turn.

Perhaps he's unwilling to be hassled by every LEO he sees, or to have them called on him everywhere he goes. Simple fact: sheeple are everywhere, but California seems to have a much denser concentration of them. I'd love to move to Texas for that reason alone but family issues prevent it.

And before anyone gets their panties in a wad because I wrote "sheeple," know this: people who are afraid of inanimate objects don't deserve an ounce of my respect.

Don't be fooled, even Texas is slowly being overrun by liberal masses who would gladly hang somebody for having a dog on a leash but would also be more than happy to throw you in jail for carrying a fixed blade. I agree with your opinion on sheeple...it is ridiculous the unwarranted fear in this country today. Priorities are in complete disarray. But on the otherhand, officers here generally are happy to have citizens with concealed carry, bc they know that we may end up being their closest backup should we happen to see a traffic stop gone wrong.
Anyway, I try to carry a fixed blade everyday, I feel more secure.

May I ask who is the maker of this one? Very nice.

New one today - BRKT Bush Seax Bantam in Black C-Tek - I think I'm gonna like this one...

And here's the sheath, in case you're interested (no pics on the website of the sheath for some reason):

I live in San Diego California, and that certainly hasn't been my experience with LEO's, or the public.

I've said this several times on this forum- I carry the fixed-blade that I posted in post #69, and I carry it like I do in the picture below. I've been carrying it for several years in urban San Diego. I also ride a big, black, loud motorcycle. Many cops have seen me carrying my knife (too many to count), many of them close enough to touch it, and not one of them has ever stopped me or said a single word about it. All I hear from cops is "How's it goin", or "Howdy" or "have a nice day".

I carry my knife into stores and restaurants and no one has ever freaked out or called the cops on me. Of course, that's MY experience. And I know that my experience doesn't necessarily translate into other peoples experience. I also know and see many other people who openly carry fixed-blades in San Diego. Perhaps the cops here just don't give a damn. Or maybe they know it's legal and they have better things to do than hassle people who aren't breaking the law.

I always find it strange when people criticize California when it comes to knives. I love California when it comes to knives. I get to carry everything I want to carry. As far as concealed fixed-blade carry goes, 99% of the time I would, and do, prefer open carry. Because one of the things I like best about carrying a fixed-blade is instant and unobstructed accessibility.

^^^yep yep. If it's legal, and you want to carry it, carry it! If you don't, it's nobody's fault but yours. I haven't ever given much of a damn about others' "perceptions" of what I carry around.

Only time anyone has ever said anything was a security guard at a hospital my daughter was in. He wasn't a Jeri just asked me to stop wearing it as it may make people nervous. He was polite so I took it off. In Canada the law is rather vague and it's up to the discretion of an officer whether he feels you're using it or may use it as a weapon. I've never has a cop say boo about it

Amen to that.

Freedom of choice is great. And people on this forum should be free to make their knife choices without criticism or judgement from others on this forum. But to deny oneself the freedom to do what you want to do, and have the legal right to do, just because other people MIGHT react in a negative way doesn't sound like "freedom" or "choice" to me at all. Just my opinion.

Clearly the Bay Area is an even worse place to live than I've thought, oh...all my life.

California knife law:

I'd carry my Battle Mistress. Fight the power.

Fallkniven G1 when I want a smaller fixed blade on me. I normally don't EDC a larger fixed blade though that may change.
