Who else hates pocket clips?

Pocket clips are fine by me. For EDC I use the knife for maybe 5-10 seconds to make the cut and then put it away, so the clip is barely noticeable. The clip is a welcomed upgrade from the traditional way of carrying pocket knives since it offers ease of use and security.

I love pocket clips..I can't stand having a knife sitting in the bottom of my pocket. IMO it's bulky, unsightly, and collects lint like crazy. Then of course, as was previously mentioned, I don't wanna have to try digging in my pocket to get out my knife when I need it in a hurry, and having to get it in proper position to open it. With a clip, my knife is in a nice, comfortable, easy to access place...God is in heaven, and all is right with the world.. :D

YMMV..

certainly nobody is forcing anyone to use a knife with a clip. imo there one of the best inovations in pocket knives. like most who like them i also cant stand a knife loose in the pocket and cant see why anyone would prefer it. i can see some liking a belt sheath carried knife vs a clip. One thing about the belt carry vs clipped in a pocket is that imo you could just as easily carry a small fixed blade in a belt sheath as you can a folder of any size. so i dont understand wanting to carry in a sheath if the knife is small enough to be pocketed with a clip. I guess ill chalk it up to people just wanting to be different no matter what and leave it at that.

i leave them off all the knives i make myself. i like a sleek smooth knife. but i can digg that people like to have them.

I hate them and take them off immediately.

Do you clip removers have any solutions to share (other than getting your pants tailored) to keep the knife in positon?

I was thinking of possibly a lanyard with enough length & bead weight to pull the lanyard over the rear corner of my pocket and keeping the knife standing upright.

I love the feel of a good folder w/o the clip but hate them slipping down sideways in my pocket and printing plus getting dust, lint & stuff in the action.

love pocket clips make it easy to get to the knife quick and i barely notice a good pocket clip when holding the knife

In my opinion the pocket clip is one of the greatest knife related inventions of the 20th century. No more digging in the bottom of your pocket for a knife - no more nicked up bolsters and scales from your keys or change - the clip also makes it possible to carry a fairly large knife (like the para-military) in your front pocket.

.

You should totally put a clip on the lanyard.

I like clips on the majority of my folders!! I have passed on a few because they didnt come with clips!! Think they should always at least give you the option!

I'd have to say clip for me. Definetly not altering my pocket either? Besides, whenever I've deep carried my blade it
Usually starts grinding from micro lintnshat particles.

Tip up and with a clip. I'm OCD about things in my pockets and my right front is dedicated to the knife. Plus, the CRK clip is very secure IMO and have never had the knife come loose.

Gotta have a clip, move around too much and I want to know exactly where my knife is when I need it (muscle memory type of thing)- don't want to be digging in my pockets. Granted, my edc's are usually 3".

Wow, what an interesting thread! I would never have guessed that there are people out there who hate pocket clips & take them off their knives. Personally, I love them & consider them to be one of, if not THE the most important & innovative creations in the history of knives. I would guess that there are millions of people who only carry knives because of the invention of the pocket clip. The idea simply put more knives in more hands (& pockets)than any other innovation I can think of. There are many beautiful and useful clip-less folders out there, I know. I own a few traditional folders & love them, but I never carry them. I just hate my knife flopping around loose in my pocket, it drives me a crazy. I also don't find it hurts the ergos of very many knives at all, or the aesthetics (except for some of the hideous Kershaw designs, like the JYD mentioned above). When I was a kid, I carried clipless foders, but that was before Mr. Glesser's revolutionary "Clip-it" came along. So, I guess you could say I'm a huge fan. For me, that little clip changed everyhting.
