Who has medfords?

Just picked this up from a Very good friend. So excited to have another Medford.

Even though they aren't my style and out of my price range for a knife (I'd rather have another handgun for that kind of $), I can certainly appreciate the workmanship of an American knife maker and I'm always glad to see pics of folks who enjoy their knives.

I just got this micro as my first medford. I like it a lot. I was wondering if anybody has any pics of the genesis and micro together?

Ha, ha,

I think I agree with everyone here, that I have read so far.

Medfords are hyped
Medfords look really different and interesting
So in so is trolling
He / they has a point
The point is show Medford knives for the pleasure of sharing Medford knifeness
Physics is fact
Piss on physics
Piss in the punch
They don't slice
They cut stuff
They aren't "finished"
The finish that is on them is different and interesting

I never got around to finding out what a Medford was then I saw today that they are the really thick blade dudes. I was already drawn to the War Pigs or what ever they are called. I need to learn more about them obviously but I was over looking at the maker's site a couple weeks ago and having fun doing it.

Art for Art's sake right ?

I'm the first person in the world to reach for the thinest blade in sight and try to make it do all that it can without damaging it. That's the game . . .

But I could see my self owning a Medford
I'm still not convinced it would be my favorite carrot slicer . . .

I haven't got all the way through the thread . . . I got kind of worn out looking for pics of Medfords . . . hoping that will change further in.

I'm just saying . . . I'm with you . . . the whole lot of yah.

I've had a Praetorian T, and currently have an Arktika and a Viper. I have edc'd the Viper from day one - it is a FANTASTIC knife that has put my Hinderers, CRKs and Emersons on the shelf (for now). I too have an appreciation for thin blades and have a Spyderco Police on board in the left pocket (soon to be replaced by either the Delica HAP40 or Endura HAP40 arriving Monday, whichever I end up preferring). I am hoping one or both of the new Spydies on the way will as much as match the sharpness of this Viper - it is insane how sharp it is after just stropping the factory edge. And the thickness of both the grip and the blade actually come in handy for a lot of grips and tasks. I really wish all my online blade-buddies could handle this thing, it is really an amazing knife. Too bad they are discontinued (name infringement IIRC). I would LOVE to see a mini version of about 3.25 to 3.5 inch blade length - I'd buy at least one for sure.

Funny thing for me about MKT is that when I first became aware of them, I was immediately drawn to the Praetorian. Couldn't wait to get my hands on one. I use to hate the way he Maruader & the Fat Daddy looked. I thought they were aesthetically unappealing in every way. After owning & letting go of a few Praetorians, all I want now is an old school, fat belly Fat Daddy, and some unusual looking Marauder. Weird.

Check out a Viper if you ever get a chance, it is my favorite knife.

I did a quick mod on my 187.
Thumb slides right into the opening notch and can be opened so much easier now. I almost stopped carrying it due to the difficulty opening it one handed.

I have & frankly, it doesn't do much for me. The big monotonous slabs of titanium doesn't appeal to my sense of aesthetics. That's not to say I don't appreciate it as a big ol' monster flipper.

I had a 187F, really nice knife and very well built but as a EDC tool the thickness was a bit much.

It also needed a long break-in period before it flipped smooth and fast.

I guess they are sorta' big, but then I found the Emerson Super Roadhouse to fit just right too. I think the beefy minimalist design is elegant, with everything some type of curve except the pocketclip.
