I picked up a 1 year fishing licence at the local Sportsmans Warehouse while I was down there getting some ammo and putting in my job application. Later this week when I get my unemployment check I'll head back to get some fishing gear. Planning to do a little fishing on Utah lake this weekend. So it got me thinking, Who else here likes to fish? And do you eat it or are you catch and release?

I used to do both but prefered to catch and eat on the scout trips up along Skyline drive in Central utah. We'd fish the Huntington Resivouir up there. They have some great Brown, Tiger and Rainbow trout. The Fish McMuffins in the morning were my favorite. Or if I'm cooking a Filet for lunch or dinner I like to cook it in a light lemon pepper and butter sause. mmmmm.

So how's about you guys?

I've fished since I can remember. I sometimes eat what I catch. Sometimes, I let it go.

Lately, here's how I like to fish.

I fish a lot. Mostly for bass and panfish, when I'm at home. Don't keep the bass, but panfish (especially crappie) are delicious, and I usually keep a bunch of them. When fishing on backcountry trips, we usually fish to eat. Trout are especially delicious. We like smallies, northerns, or walleye when in Canada. Well, they're good anywhere, but that's usually where we catch them on camping trips.

I like to fish. I try to keep a couple for eating and usually let the rest go. I always respect the legal limits in place. Poaching is in bad taste!

Ohhhh Yea ! Have the traditional northern Ontario fishing rig, 14' aluminum boat ( shallow hull) 15 horse outboard , minnows and worms and my boy, walleye are always highly sought after and the fussiest eaters !

I love to fish......I have 17 rods and reels just collecting dust since the kids were born, i don;t seem to have the time for it very often.. I hope to get in some time this summer though.......I used to fish tournaments in my younger days :D

I love to go fishing, mostly bass fishing, but in the early spring I like to mess with the trout. When I catch bass and I am not camping overnite I always release them. Trout on the other hand is too good to put back. Here is a pic of a Rainbow trout I caught a couple of weeks ago. Have fun when you do get out there. What kind of gear are you thinking about picking up?

I fish a lot and enjoy every minute of it. I eat much of what I catch. The wife loves fish as well. She will even fillet them for me.

I know where you can send those rods and reels if you don't want anymore dust to get on them:D

Just kidding, when my 3 year old was born I barely got out either.

I'm not exactly a regular in this forum but I have gotten into the habit of reading what is written here more and more. With fishing you have hit a soft spot of mine. I'm no tournament type or anything, just love catching fish....any fish.

Here is a picture of my son from late March of this year. This was caught in Oklahoma in a lake we didn't even know had trout until we got there and found out we had to go get a trout stamp.

She was 25" long and weighed 4.9 lbs. according the the lake ranger.

By the way, my son is 5.

I love to fish but lately I have very little time for it. I usually get to the lake once every 2 months.

My new mode of fishing. It takes a little bit to get used to it but its fun.

Last time I was there we built a fish cleaning station on the dock.

Thats one great looking rainbow trout. Yummy!! I'm not sure what I'll be buying. Just talked with my brother, he had some gear he will loan me for the spring and summer. Not sure what he has. After I get his stuff I'll post..

Love fishing. The last couple years I've went back to basics, a cane pole and an Altoids can tackle box. I love a fish fry lunch!

Did somebody say walleye?????

This was 20 minutes effort at our fly-in fishing post in northern Ontario. Note these were the only walleye we kept for our 5 d stay. We didn't pack much meat and having caught these good looking specimens on the first day we kept the first 4 and let everything else go. Great eating.

I love fishing, but I'm very bad at it...never had much luck, but it's a great time! I release most of what I catch except for panfish. -Matt-

of bluegill earlier today.I fish because I love to eat them! The peace and quiet while on the water is therapy:D
