Who likes to fish?

TonyM, great looking Peacock man. Peacock fishing in South America is a dream trip of mine, and it's going to be my retirement gift to myself. Only 4 yrs 4 months and 27 days.................but who's counting.

You guys that fish offshore have some outstanding looking fish. I don't have a clue what most of them are, but they look like they would be fun to catch.

I fished a little when I was very young, and got back into it Spring 2005. I fish freshwater almost exclusively, though I have tried saltwater a couple times. I fish almost exclusively wityh natural bait, because of the failures I had with the fake stuff when i got back into it.

I started fishing just a little while after I started walking. It's one activity that I enjoy to no end to this day, and I'm glad that my father got me interested in it at a young age.

I enjoy all kinds, as well. Flyfishing native trout in PA, hitting up bass and panfish in the small water around home after work, and surf fishing on my days off. I used to go on party boats for fluke, but poor management of this species in our area has made it little more than a waste of money.

I LOVE fishing! I've been doing it since before I was born(I've got proof). Trout mainly but I will fish for anything given the chance. I eat what I catch and I also practice release, since I like fishing so much I usually can't eat everything I catch.

Since everyone is posting pics:

Along with my son and girlfriend we fish year round. This time of year we probably get out at least four times a week if not more. We prefer trout but fish for almost everything else that swims. We fly fish as much as we spin fish and almost never use live bait. Our week of vacation at the beach finds us on the pier every morning at 5:00. We fished the local lake last night and I caught a smallmouth about 3 lbs. on my first cast. Everything we catch goes back unless we plan on having trout for dinner when camping or a big dinner for everyone while at the beach.

Great pic! Got a love that big smile on him, I took my 3 year old out for the first time last week. We only fished from shore, I am a little scared to put on my boat. She also smiled all day long as well, it was great!

Tony,

I knew one of the great people here would offer to help out if needed, Thanks you for stepping up! Great picture here btw, she does appear to be having a blast:thumbup: I am planning on taking a few rods to my wifes family reunion at Hoards Creek, no better time for fishing than a family reunion, if you know what I mean ;) I will try to get some pictures posted when we go.

I know exactly what you mean:thumbup: I love it when my wife gives me the look when she gets in the truck and sees the rods in the back when we are on the way to her family's house:D
Be sure to post those pics, when you get back.

Your going to love it. There is nothing like a topwater hit from a peacock:eek: Some times they make a wake as they are swimming towards your lure, and its so hard to keep working it, and not set the hook to early. Its just amazing. Best of luck, and I think you owe yourself an early retirement gift! :D

I love fishing. During the summer it isn't uncommon for me to go fishing at least 3+ times a week. Today I took my kayak out after work even though it was pouring rain and only 50-55 degrees, because nothing beats some fried trout, and home made hard cider on a cool rainy spring night. joe

Strictly trout for me. Unless I'm fishing the Sea of Cortez.

Headed down to Canon City this weekend for some trout fishing. Probably head that way for the caddis hatch on the Arkansas....I didn't catch anything last year.

Need to make it up to my favorite lake in RMNP once the snow melts.

Tony, your killin' me with the pics man. I hear they have some crazy catfish down in those rivers too. I'm definitely looking forward to that trip.

I did do some peacock fishing in Miami several years ago. It was odd fishing in peoples back yards and even though they were small compared to the fish from the Amazon I had a fantastic time catching them.

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Love catching chrome, only eat the store bought fillets though. Catch and release wild.
Salmon are always cleaned and cooked on the Lodge Hibachi! The Alsea river has a lot of both. It's nice to walk out the front door and go fishing 100ft later.

i grew up fishing.. i love it... we don't do it that often anymore, and i don't care much for ocean fishing...:o
