Who likes to fish?

All these pictures of fish make me hungry. I can't wait for tomorrow afternoon... I'll be heading out to the lake with friends. Got my gear ready yesterday and it's sitting in a corner of the front room. Just need to get to my brothers house to get the fishing stuff.

I think I have the record for the smallest bass ever caught on rod & reel.

NICE SMALLY:eek:, How much did he weigh? I got to get up to Lake Erie:thumbup:

Thanks, she was a big fatty alright. I don't have a scale and was trying to get her back in the water quick so there wasn't much time to guesstimate a weight.:( When they get to 20" and over it's a real battle.:)

The eastern basin of Erie is an awesome bass fishery, if you get a chance try it out. Can be a little intimidating sometimes, such a vast expanse of open water in front of you but if you invest some time studying local contour maps you can get going relatively quickly.

Thanks for the info, my friend did tournament up there last year, and asked if I wanted to join him to prefish it, my dumbass turned it down! Hopefully I can get up there this year.

Misanthropist,

The multi-colored fish is a sheepshead. I've shot a bunch in Southern California. My late father was especially deadly on them. They are a very unusual fish biologically.

Sheepshead are not my favorite eaters, but they aren't bad at all.

I love to fish, especially with my son. We make quite a few trips each year, either to the Texas coast or out to a bass honey hole I have access to. I typically release what I catch, but there have been more than a few fish that have made it to the pan.

Here's a red from High Island, TX:

Thanks! I was over at my dad's place for the last few days for a fishing trip and neither of us had any idea...in my case that is nothing special but my dad has been a fishing nut for close to six decades - always here in BC though where we have nothing that looks like that!

I will have to tell him I found out the story on that thing.
