Who still carries a Case Knife?

I think this will be my next purchase: always wanted a buffalo horn handle and like the Trapper pattern. well done!

Question: do you treat the buffalo horn scales at all to keep them from getting brittle / cracking?

Thanks, it’s a great knife! It’s hard to show off in photos, it looks much better in person.

I will treat the handles by simply rubbing mineral oil on them and occasionally I’ll rub them with Renaissance Wax. The wax works good if the knife will be stored for a while and the oil is good if you’re carrying it often.

If you end up buying one, be sure to post pics! I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Attended the “baby reveal party” this past Sunday evening for my daughter and son-in-law. My daughter is going to have a baby boy in November, our first grandchild (and we are stoked!). I carried this 1974 Case 6318, as far as I can tell it is NOS (I bought it used at and antique mall). This knife will be put aside to give to my grandson when the right time comes (which better come fast cause I’ll be 68 when he‘s born!). Once I put the beautiful 1974 away I dropped my favorite 1976 EDC Case 6318 back in my pocket, it’s been there since Monday, except for another special (but non-Case) pocketknife on Independence Day. A very happy Old Hunter!
