Who still carries a Case Knife?

Well look what’s in my pocket today…

Hi all.

I'm new to case knives and traditional knives in general. I recently picked up a medium stockman from a retailer. It really called to me and so I took it home. They had misplaced the box so I accepted a small discount and went on my way.

The stamp looked different then a few of my other more recent purchases so I thought to date it. I could be wrong, but to me, this looks like a 2004 production year. I laughed at the thought that it may have sat in the display, collecting dust for the last 20 years before I rescued it.

Let me know if I may be mistaken.

I was just at my local Tractor Supply and just for fun I snapped a photo of their Case knife selection.

That's the same as the one near me, only the sparxx trapper and yellow peanut were left for most of last year. I'll be out that way soon and will stop in to see if they ever refilled or changed it. Probably not though.
