Had this with me for this morning's wander.

Chance of scattered thunderstorms this afternoon.

This has been in my pocket since the mail man dropped it off. Except when I was photographing it ir putting a new edge on it.

That's outstanding!! :thumbsup: 😲 :thumbsup:
I'd be a Case bonestag addict if they could guarantee that every example was a rich dark color like yours.

Monday's carry, 63047.

That's a splendid knife, Bruce! :cool::thumbsup::cool:
Does the zero in the pattern number 63047 mean something specific? My favorite non-sowbelly Case stockman is the '47 pattern, but all of mine are numbered 6347 (or LT347 for a Zytel model), with no zero. On the other hand, I have a clip/pen knife on the 47 frame, with a blade at each end, and that is stamped 06247 (with the leading zero being a surprise to me).

Thank you GT! The 63047 has a Turkish Clip main blade while the more common 6347 has a standard Clip main (wider in the center). The 06247 is another variation using the same 47 frame as the others, its normally marked 06247 PEN and like yours has two blades, a Clip main and a Pen secondary. Years ago I made myself a little cheatsheet to carry with me when knife shopping, I think there were maybe ten different knives made on the 47 frame (Bird Hunter, Golfer, Muskrat, Hawbaker Muskrat, and others I don't remember now). Oh, I have a single blade too, a 6147.

I was a Case bonestag addict, but not anymore. The ones that start out dark tend to lighten up overtime. I have four of five of them that were once gloriously rich in color, but no longer.

Thanks for the helpful info, Bruce. :thumbsup::thumbsup: (I'm sort of embarrassed that I didn't notice the Turkish clip on your 63047.:rolleyes:)
10 knives on the 47 frame?? I've learned a LOT about knives over the past 11 years, but I've accepted the fact that, no matter how much I learn, there will always be more that I don't know than there is that I know. ;)

Thanks for your "testimonial", Buzz. :thumbsup::thumbsup:
I'm sorry to hear that your dark bonestags have faded over time. :(
I wonder if anyone has tried dying faded bonestag?
