I have yet to see any knives out there that are like what I'm making, but then, I could say the same thing about the sculpture that my knives help create. Take care now.

Welcome,
You will learn much here. Let's see some of those knives.

Hmm... I thought that I had replied...

Hey, I'd love to drop on by. I probably won't get a chance until August, since as soon as school's done I'm heading to StL for the summer.

My name is Martin (Sandy) Morrissey. I made my last knife in 1944 while in the Navy so I can hardly aspire to the title "Knifemaker", can I? I am a professional leather craftsman and I specialize in making custom knife sheaths. I moderate a few forums on leather craft and sheath making. A lot of the names here are very familiar to me---and very dear to me. ---Sandy---

I am Walter Powers, a retired welder. I have made a few knifes in my spare time, but don't claim to be a maker. Just a hobbyist. I live in a small community named Lolita, which is about 35 miles southeast of Victoria, Tx.
Well, I guess I can stop trying to think up ; a really cool handle. I've had the shop running for 7 years. Started out forging, love it. I like to share and learn.
Feel free too ask, I hope I can do the same. My forge sits atop the highest hill in Washington co. Ohio. Just Fred

Hi, i thought i would add to the list and say hello.
I am newly infected with the urge to make my own knives. I have lurked here for about a month and like the community that i see.
I am just getting started building our new house and with that plans for a new shop :D
I have no skills yet in knifemaking but am in the process of putting together a 2x72" grinder with the local Guild president Knut lie.
I have been lucky enough to visit a couple Knifemakers shops in my area,Frank Niro and Roger Hatt where both Gracious enough to show me the inside of there knife creation workshops.
I am very interested in making Damascus one day and i think that Robert Eggerling is incredible.
I also have some ideas about vacuum pressure for stabilizing wood and will explore them in the near future and post the results here.
Thats all i guess.........see ya all around.
