Who wants to see a bad mofo knife?? Miller Bros Blades are sick

I can understand personal preference...but what is your claim about the usability of Miller Bros Blades? I haven't used all of mine, but I've used some...and they've met my (high) expectations.
(I was tempted to throw in a pic or two, but this thread isn't about me & my knives)

I've used almost all of my Busse knives and chop often with the NMFBM and newer Moabolo... The edge retention and ease of bringing it back to razor shop is unmatched in other steels I've used.

The MBB stuff I've seen looks like it's more for tactical than bush craft, but I'm sure you can make it work. I'm not familiar with their entire line, so there might be something that fits more into being a usable chopper- but I'll still lean to INFI after having success with it.

Admittedly, I AM speculating based on using one brand (Busse) and only seeing the other (MBB)... if you've used both Busse and MBB I'd like to hear how you felt they compared.

First off. Jesus Christ. WTF is wrong with all of you guys. This is a knife forum. Notice the smiley faces and tongue sticking out faces after the whole "big league steel" comment. It was supposed to be a playful comment about big league steel. That's why I put the emoticons after it. I don't think I'm an actual steel expert. I was making a joke

And the first comment was a trolling hater comment. If the comment was something like, yeah it's not my style and this is my reason for that, instead "if you say so". I might not have attacked the first reply. But it was a straight up trolling comment. What's the point? To take someone who was being playful down a knotch?

Miller bros make great knives. Buy one and find out. Are they the best knives around?..the most finely crafted in the world? Prob not. Like some commenters said, there are always bigger boxes of toys.

If this were a car forum and I posted my new BMW, woukd it be ridiculed because it's not a Lamborghini. For God sake, get a grip gents. It's a fun post of a collection of nice knives. And I guess for someone who didn't drop 20k on a single knife I will just have to be satisfied with these blades until I can win the lottery.

Yes there are blades that cost upwards of $100k but who really has that kind of dough? And yes the saw back isn't for everyone. It's a matter of opinion. I love the saw back style.

FWIW, I find it annoying when anyone starts a thread dedicated to themselves and their knife. It's only acceptable in the custom/handmade forums, where makers are excited to show off what they've been working really hard on.

I'm pretty excited because I bought a few customs recently, but I'm not starting threads for people to (hopefully) drool over my knives. If this was started as a MBB appreciation thread, I wouldn't mind; but it was intended to be a Cappy2cap appreciation thread...

I'm on the exact other side of this fence as well. I LOVE seeing other people's knives and collections. That's how I learned about this hobby to begin with. That's why I'm so big on Instagram. These knives aren't my thing, but I certainly do appreciate the pictures the OP has posted. I learned about another custom maker today. I'm going to third (maybe fourth?) and say that I would love to see a thread of the new customs you have recently acquired.

I'm on the other side of that fence, BB... I like seeing other people's collections. Speaking of, shoot over some pics of those customs please (or post a link if you don't mind).

Cappy, nice collection... A friend of mine is looking at getting some Miller Bros stuff, but I keep trying to steer him to Busse instead based on personal preference and usability.

+1

My intent wasn't trying to set an "I, better than you thread". I thought that's what forums were for. Showing off new pieces..my bad.

I'm ok if the knives pictured aren't for everyone but what's the point of being on a knife forum and you can't playfully show off your collection?? Most people would prob just say, hey man nice collection.

I feel like you guys are attacking the OP because I set a tone. You read how you want to read the tone. My tone was playful. But if you are a an a-hole with a rotting soul then I guess you woukd read the post as arrogant and not playful. So it's in your best interest to let me have it. But that's what the emoticons are for. Tone interpretation. Right?

Don't sweat it, Cappy... You got some positive posts in here so don't focus on the negative... keep the pics flowing- I liked seeing them!

I'm out. You can't baton a knife that has both a sharpened spine and a sawback.

Jamesh, the OP set the tone in his first few posts. Any disagreement as to his assertions were labeled as "trolling as a hater". Frankly, when I see his new knives, I don't see any "sick" "bad mofo" knives. I see knives that remind me of a $25 Cold Steel GI Tanto. Glad he likes them, but he should have been prepared to handle other peoples' opinions a bit better. I think those knives he posted are ugly, and don't see any real super skill involved in having made them, does that make me a hater? Just trolling?

Edited to add: As someone else said, if he hadn't labeled anyone who disagrees with him as haters, he'd probably have more comments to the tune of "Not really my speed, but glad you're happy! Enjoy!" That's what he would have gotten from me.

Let's be clear,,,because someone can only afford a 25 dollar knife it can't be their grail ?

Okay. If you say so.

Get a grip. Strangers on the internet disagree with your opinion about knives. And you asked for their opinion.

We all want you to enjoy your knife. We all think you should enjoy your knife. If you are joking in your post, then deal with others doing the same.

IMO, putting down the person is off-limits but expressing your opinion about the knife itself is kind of the point of the post, no? I don't want to read three pages of "nice knife, guy", I want to read constructive criticism as well. If you like the blade, tell OP how you feel. If you think it's flawed, tell OP how you feel.
It's not the end of the world, y'all.

Hey man don't worry about peoples opinions. If you like the knives then I'm sure someone else enjoys them too. I'm not really into fantasy knives but I can respect/appreciate them. Knives are similar to music choices. I can respect all music but I don't like all music. The world would be a boring place if we all liked the same thing. Thanks for posting these bad mothas!

...will it actually rip through a treetruck fairly quick?

I think you meant tree trunk, but when I first read it I was really hoping you put the tree + vehicle amalgam intentionally. That's what I saw, I found it hilarious, and I'm sticking with it.

The new definition of badass...cleaving treetrucks in twain!

Okay. If you say so.

See my man, there is a difference between straight out trolling and criticism with a purpose. let me point it out. The first comment was strictly aimed at me. My post was taken as cocky and arrogant and the reply was set to "teach me a lesson" and "bring me down a peg." Perhaps I should have started with, "in my opinion". Like I said, I figured the emoticons would set a playful tone.

The quotes under this statement, may not well agree with my tastes in knives, but they say, Hey, I hate SAWBACKS. Or maybe 30 years ago when Rambo came out the style was cool. That's fine. We just have different tastes in blade style
No offense to the maker, but it kinda looks like the 1000 other sawback fantasy blades around

Quality materials but a little too mall ninja style for me.

Neat looking stuff but it is kinda like Harley-Davidson, not really my style. Looks like it would be fun to own, though. I could chase my cat with it!

The sawback makes it hideous looking.

This guys^^^^ clealy doesn't like it:D:D But you know what, that's his opinion and very welcome to say it or I wouldn't have posted the pics.

And here is an example of another opinion which is fine.
Thanks for posting the pics. The new Bowie is not my particular style (everybody is different, right. I'm just not a big serrations guy), but it looks like it is made well and I like the looks of the integrated guard. I will take a look at MBB if I can find them on the inter webs. Nice overall collection. Really like some of those knives (and hatchets).

but then you get down to the guys who don't like anyone showing off their stuff, which I thought was pretty normal. Isnt that what like minded people do that collect the same things. Blue Bender makes the point the you only should post pictures of your stuff on blade forums if and only if its a very expensive custom. And we all appreciate such wisdom. so thanks bro. I will only post if the price tag is say, what, above $2000. And just FYI I was trying to plug MBB blades. I think they do great work. Now that I know posting mediocre collection pics is bad forum form, I will make sure it never happens again:yawn::rolleyes:

...and declare his expertise in badass mofo-ery and "big league steel." That usually doesn't fly.

Seems, same knife in a thread without that may have gotten more "Not my cup of tea, but enjoy." replies.

I'm glad our friend enjoys his knives, including his new one, and I hope he enjoys doing with them whatever he does.

Again^^^^^ Emoticons bro...playful comment. Im no expert. The internet is a nasty place to be and thick skin is a requirement for sure.

I will have to say that I was quite surprised to see how many people were so quick to piss all over this guy's
parade. I mean, is everyone so unhappy about someone else's purchase that all they choose to muster is a very
rude comment? This is bladeforums after all, if everyone can cheer on congratulatory statements when some
new guy gets his first $10 mora I would think a long standing member just happy about a new purchase would
get a little leeway, even if his OP left a little something to be desired according to some. Personally, I didn't
take it so seriously.

The real truth is that the knife didn't fit into all of these poster's idea of what they like in a knife, or what brand
they support. If it had been one of 10,000 identical twin sebenzas, the newest ZT0923809123987BWCF or some
Busse monstrosity that Jerry apparently ground while too drunk to even to even type a coherent sentence and
charged $500 up front for it, site unseen, people would be having orgasms over it.

OP, thanks for posting the pics to share, enjoy your knife.

The internet is a nasty place to be and thick skin is a requirement for sure.

It can be, and a thick skin certainly is good. So please take this with your thick skin...it is meant as advice..,.

1) Is your knife, enjoy it.
2) "bad ass mofo" makes one sound like a 13 year old ninja and gets them treated accordingly
3) telling us what an expert you are in big league knives and then expecting people to decipher what your emoticons are supposed to imply doesn't work. The folks here read words.
4) Throwing out "hater" and "troll" immediately guarantees a mess.
5) If you ask for peoples' opinions, expect to hear them.
6) I think your knife is silly. But you really shouldn't care.
7) Enjoy your knife.
