Who Went to Oregon?? Post Your Booty!!

Well.... I did elude to that excursion Charlie, but I didn't really want to shine you in a bad light.
But Hey! It's all good, we got to Knives Ship Free for the tour and everyone made it home safe and sound.(with a little less $ and a few more knives)
Next time lets get lost in the country instead of an unfamiliar BIG city!;)

Great show this year and what a blast meetin' all the BF members! You guys are the best!!!

Was my first knife show. Scored a super sweet Barlow. Scales I've always wanted. Blade is my second favorite, so can't hope for much better!

Ended up ordering today the knife I was eyeing at Derrick's all day, an orange BRKT Huntsman.

Was a blast. Can't wait for next year. My son needs to age so I can take him. ;)

Hey great find Robert! I have the very same 77 and like it a lot! Each time I go to the OKCA show I learn more and more. Just a great weekend.

I didn't know about the massive Barlow sale. I was chatting at KSF and one of the guys mentioned he just bought one and directed me. Huge line.

I browsed but they didn't have quite the one I wanted and I didn't want to swipe one I thought was so-so and maybe strip it from someone that came later. But I found this gem and am so happy.

I kind of lied. While I want a wharny (meant sheepsfoot) in the same style (maybe red, but love this color), I kind of want both, not that more than this. They're both nice.

I just have a hard time sharpening the front half inch. Hehe.

I hear ya! The red is nice too and the Wharncliff, while not a very traditional blade on the barlow frame, could be quite useful.

Nice summary of the Show Dave.

Sounds like what I love.

Really like that J Rodgers pruner Charlie , exquisite.

The attached thumbnail is an interesting patron, his name is Dave Anderson I believe and he had some incredible carvings that he had done.

Dave

Great photos Dave! Thanks for sharing, and thank you SOOO MUCH for grabbing a couple of Barlows for me!!

The story about your adventure with Charlie trying to find KSF is priceless! What I wouldn't give to see a video of that! In fact, that would be the best reality show ever! Sort of like American Pickers, but instead it would be Charlie "The Kris Kringle of Barlows" Campagna & Dave "The Cowboy Knowtracks" Gentry, traveling the countryside, in search of vintage pocket knives. Someone needs to contact the History Channel and pitch that idea!!:D:D

The photos you posted are great! It is sooo funny how in every photo that Lloyd is in, he has a singular, laser-like focus on the task at hand. Who is the kid in the light blue shirt next to Lloyd in a lot of the photos, is he a forum member? He must've done some damage too, because in all the photos, he's knee deep in the trenches, right next to Lloyd.

Thanks again for sharing, and I hope to make it there next year...

Love the top right one. Also, what's the "scout" one? Really like that!

Thanks Robert! The Scout is built on the same frame or pattern as the TC--that's the #15 frame. This one is the two blade Sheep Foot/Pen blade combo and features the distinctive Easy Open circular notch making it even easier to pinch open the primary blade the sheepfoot without having to use the long pull nail slot to deploy the blade. Very popular with knife enthusiasts but hard to find now since it is not in current production by GEC. These were produced in 2013 and are so marked on the left side primary blade tang. There is also a single blade Sheepfoot model and three or four handle materials. This one is rust red jigged bone and is highly sought after. I know because I looked a long time for one until this one became available to me at the Show. A lot of knife collectors are anxious for GEC to make another run of these and I am sure they would sell out again maybe more quickly than before! Lloyd
