Who Went to Oregon?? Post Your Booty!!

Great photos Dave! Thanks for sharing, and thank you SOOO MUCH for grabbing a couple of Barlows for me!!

The story about your adventure with Charlie trying to find KSF is priceless! What I wouldn't give to see a video of that! In fact, that would be the best reality show ever! Sort of like American Pickers, but instead it would be Charlie "The Kris Kringle of Barlows" Campagna & Dave "The Cowboy Knowtracks" Gentry, traveling the countryside, in search of vintage pocket knives. Someone needs to contact the History Channel and pitch that idea!!:D:D

The photos you posted are great! It is sooo funny how in every photo that Lloyd is in, he has a singular, laser-like focus on the task at hand. Who is the kid in the light blue shirt next to Lloyd in a lot of the photos, is he a forum member? He must've done some damage too, because in all the photos, he's knee deep in the trenches, right next to Lloyd.

Thanks again for sharing, and I hope to make it there next year...

I believe you are talking about Josh, he was at the head of the line Sat. morning.

Your TC's will go out today Al, hope you enjoy!!!

Great pics and stories! I'm about as far away from Oregon as you can get, otherwise that would have been a fun trip. Of course, that didn't keep Perry from going...

Thanks for sharing, for those of us that couldn't make it

I can't tell you how nice it is to read all of these accounts of meeting forum members, and seeing the pics. Thanks again for all who have taken the time to make the rest of us feel like we were there.

Amen!:thumbup: It's great to read about the show, and I'm especially impressed that many attendees posting here are obviously still excited about the experience, almost a week later. :D:D Of course, it's also great to see everyone sharing what knives they were able to score at the show. Speaking of which...

Another photo of the show haul

Congrats, Lloyd; you were obviously a BIG winner!:thumbup:
I personally can't take my eyes off your 2-blade sheepsfoot EO Scout - just outstanding!!:thumbup::thumbup:
And what's the one right below it?? I don't know what it is, but I know what I like, and man, I love the looks of THAT knife!! ;);)

Great hauls, stories, and photos from the show guys, keep 'em coming!

I am benefiting from the show even though I didn't get there; I have 2 or 3 knives in route way to me that Were at the show!:D Thanks to Barry!

Campagna-nomics: remarkable knives that start out in a large plastic bin, and then slowly trickle down through the hands of various wise men, until they reach their final destination in the palm of a drooling knife-nut.:D

The pruner below the horn JR (an exhibition-grade knife!), is an interesting conundrum, Duncan. One piece forged liners and bolsters square and clean joint and pistol-grip handle; it appears very old, very pocket-polished but still snaps well. However the tang stamps are not completely readable. I am prepping some pics for Bernie Levine's forum, to try and get some more eyes on the tang.
The slim Doctor's knife is a JR also, with horn handles. Despite its uber-patina it's, it's a beauty! It weighs less than an ounce! The Bunyanesque Moose in the lower right is a massive Schrade Cut Co, and weighs 5.15 ounces!

Thank you for that Charlie- it will be interesting to see what comes up in Bernards Thread - if Bernard at all will respond? You are right-that JR is indeed a supreme knife, that Moose is massive!!!!!

Well I did manage to find one non GEC TC folder at the show thanks to "Eagle Eye" Perry. I told Perry I sure would like to find just one older vintage folder. So when we left Charlie's table we started going up and down the aisles at he show and I bet it wasn't twenty minutes and Perry spotted and locked onto this Shrade staight line logo tang address (1917-1946) folder and I was able to acquire it. It is in just stunning condition given its age. There is absolutely no corrosion or rust or spotting on any of the metal liners or blade surfaces. The handles are tight and the snap on both blades is excellent. Then I got the very nice pocket slip from our own Gunstock Jack (Barry) and it is a perfect fit. Thanks Perry and Barry! Lloyd

Yep, that's the jigging knifer dreams are made of! I think in that whole show last weekend there were maybe 20 knives of this caliber. Pretty sure between Charlie, Dave, Rick, aka Old Bowie and Lloyd, they snatched them all. Dave also found some nice old Schatts too!

Great find Lloyd! I love the old peachseed bone and wish I'd seen that knife first! :D

I got to that dealer shortly after Lloyd!
The spot where that Schrade Cut Co sat in his display was still smoking as I recall!
I scored a very fine SCC Moose from him, but surely would have scooped that EE of Lloyd's also, if it had still been there! Nice one, Lloyd!
Thanks for saving my wallet!;)

Well, I finally got my stuff from the trip all stowed away, and here are some more finds and gifts from the show.
From the top down, Knowtracks traded me back an HJ2 from a few years back - thanks Dave!
I was chatting with GEC Chris at her tables, and some unknown soldier tried to sell her a 2007 NKCA Youth Knife. When she told him they didn't buy knives, I jumped in and paid his very reasonable price for it - a nice #73 with smooth bone, and two shields, and unused! Thanks unknown guy!
Last, I mentioned to someone at Derrick's KSF tables that I had a son and a brother who were excellent guitar players, and I did not have one of those guitar-shield knives they were displaying. Some time later, Derrick showed up and flat out gave me this - "GRRRR" - Tiger Lily version!!
Many thanks, Derrick!! I shall keep it where I can see it and think of my musical guys!!

Thanks Charlie for everything and weighing in on my Schrade purchase! You got a couple of beauties Perry and I looked at at that same dealer. Perry said to me when we were walking away Charlie will be all over a couple of those and he probably would have picked up that Schrade if you didn't. That Moose is a hunky beaut. That was one fantastic Saturday last week and the best part in the final analysis was all the great collectors I got to meet and visit with. I will look forward to seeing you next year if I am able! Lloyd

Thanks for giving us some details on that marvelous Schrade you picked up, Lloyd!:thumbup:
No wonder I liked it; hey, do you think I could actually be developing "good taste"?:D:eek:

Thanks GT! I was quite shocked when the whole time at he show Charlie kept pulling out very desirable TC folders for sale and then all of a sudden on Sunday there was this #15 Scout EO with the highly sought after rust red jigged bone that just materialized from under the table! I still had some money left in my pocket and with the great price Charlie was offering it at well it just combined against me and I did partake. ha ha! Lloyd
