Guess I can't hide this old thing forever... :) I had such a great time hanging out with Charlie, Dave & Barry. I've already known for years now what a great guy Charlie is but I didn't have any interaction with Dave or Knowtracks before meeting him at the show & what a class act he is! One of those guys that within minutes you just know he's good people & would call him a friend. Its always nice to chat with Chris Tucker as well. Wish I could have met more of you guys but I could only attend one day this year. Next year I will be taking 2 days off of work for sure.

Wowee! Talk about a special one! Very interesting skunk indeed, Jake!
Well done, hopefully next year we will meet and hang out for the day to chase down the rare
And elusive antique pocket knives.

Great score Jake....that is beautiful!!

Congratulations Jake  Some great tales, and thanks again for the pics Barry :)

Charlie, looks like you did well too my friend, nice finds

Well Done Jake!!
Great score and well deserved!

Charlie-I cant understand how people still come across such great old knives!

You get a few absolute beauties in these shows- Just amazing - I love those Joseph Rodgers - and as already stated that Empire is something else - I doubt I will ever come across such Treasures!!
Charlie - in your first scan - below that Lovely Horn JR what - is the Stag Handled knife-theres lots different with that knife - I likee!!!!
Does it have any markings at all?

Thanks everyone for making it a great show! My blue Rubbermaid tubs (I managed to nearly fill a second one!) are empty!! That money goes into the next runs of course. I had a great time, meeting and hanging with like-minded knife people! It just doesn't get any better!!
One of the highlights of the show, was sneaking up on Christine from GEC on Sunday just before the doors opened for the show-goers, and singing Happy Birthday!! We didn't get the chance to sing when we took her out to dinner the night before. I did a quick circuit, and whispered a bunch of invitations at 30-40 tables to sing with us, then the whole infamous crew of us surrounded her table! She looked up, shocked, and said "What'd I do???"
Knowtracks hit the right key, and singin50 did his perfect harmony!! I thought for a split second we were a professional choir!!
That was the spirit of the weekend, right there!!

NIce to meet all of you had a great show - I was the guy next to Charlie, Dave and Barry.

Of course there is yet another side to Oregon. Seems a person can spend too much money on antique pocket knives, as well as recent ones!!

Here are some beauties that came home with me;

A few more:

There are two more, which eventually went home with someones else, two Remingtons. I will try and get pictures of them as well.

Some of these are outrageously rare and beautiful, some are ordinary and worn. All have a story to tell.

The pruner below the horn JR (an exhibition-grade knife!), is an interesting conundrum, Duncan. One piece forged liners and bolsters square and clean joint and pistol-grip handle; it appears very old, very pocket-polished but still snaps well. However the tang stamps are not completely readable. I am prepping some pics for Bernie Levine's forum, to try and get some more eyes on the tang.
The slim Doctor's knife is a JR also, with horn handles. Despite its uber-patina it's, it's a beauty! It weighs less than an ounce! The Bunyanesque Moose in the lower right is a massive Schrade Cut Co, and weighs 5.15 ounces!

You really did find some stunning knives Charlie, the Pruners are very interesting, and I love the Doctor's Knife

Yes, my favorite of Charlie's finds is that Schrade Cut Co. Moose pattern! What a hunk a knife that is!
