Whoopee - GEC website shows #77 BLADE FORUM 2014 CLUB KNIFE is in production

Tx_planes, it is too late to order one of these as it was a pre-paid order closed out months ago but many people ordered more than one so it will be very likely that some will become available on the exchange. I am still hunting for the 2011 Bladeforum knife.

Brisket,

Thanks for letting me know. I'll keep an eye on the exchange.

I hope you can find your 2011 BF knife soon. The hunt is half the fun.

This was the largest run ever done for a bladeforums knife so you have a much better chance getting a hold of one than the 2011 knife. :)

I think my eyes popped out an inch or two when I saw it finished.

Don't you have to be a paying member?

Not that I'm aware of. The original post in the order thread was quoted here (the OP was modified after they were sold out). Seemed like it was open to anyone... rule #3 implied that you didn't even need to have an account here on BFC.

will these be available through G.E.C. dealers? same for the sfo Barlow.

No. This was a BladeForums knife with stag donated by John Lloyd . Orders were only taken here. The same pattern may show up later on other knives. But that is something different.

Don't you have to be a paying member?

Being a paying member was not a requirement.

Well, that's the best looking production knife I've ever seen and I can't imagine a better deal for the price. I really REALLY wish I would have ordered two like I had contemplated.

The knife looks GREAT! Thanks for posting her!!

Liam all I can say is WOW! You did a SUPER job on the art work!!:cool::cool:
Thank You for your hard work.
I can't wait, and it's already paid for! ;)

It's true Dave! I need to buy knives months in advance more often, I've already forgotten about the money! Now it is just a real nice surprise

Wow it looks just great. As someone asked...how would I order one? I discovered the traditional forum too late to realize what you guys/gals have going on here. :( Can someone PM me with instructions on how/where to order. If I missed the boat completely on these two knives then just let me know. I'll understand.
There is another knife based on the same pattern being made. It is a special factory order. See it in the Washington Jack thread on page two currently. I would love to get my hands on that one, can't because the knife budget is gone at the moment. Can't wait to get my forum knife though.

Chris

Oh my. I could only afford one, which I intended to be a Christmas present for my father-in-law. Now I'm not so sure it will make it to him....

Michael

That is just beautiful.

Thanks to all for making the knife possible.

GEC continues to impress!

And thank you very much to the donor of the beautiful stag - what a wonderful and generous gesture!

I will cherish this knife for it's beauty and the friendships and effort behind it's creation.

best

This is a very good looking piece, my congratulations to all participants!

I had to back out this year for various reasons which I'm now gutted about. I'll keep my eyes on the exchange.

@cards94 - I know Frank already answered but I'll add to it. In the OP Charlie did encourage people to contribute to the forum by paying for a membership, although it was not a requirement for this years knife. I think it's a testament to the open attitude of the traditional forum that anyone can take part and get in on it if they want to, regardless of whether they pay the $10 a year or not. :)

This looks to be a handy slipjoint; and is already special. I find a lot of goodness here in traditionals, and was able to find some extra cash for this year at least.

A well made, sharp, traditional pocket knife can bring a smile to my face and does remind me of good family members who played a part in my growing up. Those memories can help keep my head on straight and my heart in a good place. A big job for a simple slippie. "We get too soon old and too late smart."
