Who's excited for #47 Viper?!

I'm happy to see dark ebony again from GEC. If the # 78 had ebony like this, I would've gotten one, but all I found was the two toned (black/brown) ebony, which I don't care to own.

Agreed. The ebony on my #47 is uniformly black and reasonably tight-grained. The other examples I've seen so far seem to the same. Well done, GEC.

Got my #47 OD Green micarta today. Gave it the ol' chicken eye and found some minor gaps and the spring sits a bit proud on the half-stop, but overall I'm pleased with it. The micarta is very good, the blade is nicely centered, the factory edge is... ok, and I really like the dimensions. Good knife.

You guys are a bunch of enablers. I wasn't going to buy anything until the 22 Magnum came out. Percheron Bone ordered. Sheesh ;)

Agreed, mine had pretty much all the same minor flaws. But, with regard to sharpness the blade grinds are really nice and thin (#15 territory), meaning once you do get an edge on it, boy does it cut!:)

I take back everything I said about how slow the mail is and apologise unreservedly.

Brian, what flavor you waiting on?

Meako, very nice and great pics

I would love to see the result of one of these indian paint brush versions with some tea or coffee dipping :)

Wished I'd pulled the trigger faster. Looking at the line-up and pics my personal favorites in order are smooth white bone, green micarta, then lava acrylic.

They all look great tho. Congrats all.

Cheers
bit of a dull day so photos looking a bit wishy washy. The IPB is bright and solid with crisp snaps. Percheron is horse bone right?
Also the back ground newspaper that was on the table is the article and pics of Port Kembla Copper stack being demolished on Wednesday and that is my firetruck in the pic. We had to standby for worst case contingency. Thankfully all went according to the plan. It was quite spectacular and something I doubt I'll see the like of again in my life. Out of interest it is the tallest structure in the Southern hemisphere ever to be brought down this way.Find it on youtube .

Got my notice today as well, Sienna and Blackwood on their way.

Can someone tell me, are the tips on these as fine as on the #72 wharnies?

Thanks for all the pics! I really start to like the style of this pattern, just a bit smaller and I would start looking into where to get one.

btw, meako, what is that smaller knife in your pics? Is that a Case Swayback Jack?

Cheers,
Bernd
