Who's gotten their 5.1 Starter?

I posted this in the official pictures thread, but thought it would go good with this morning's theme of family pics

I figured that there may be a handful of guys, like myself, who have migrated to the survive style of knives from the bark rivers.

A direct comparison to some of the more popular bark rivers may help someone in deciding which Survive to pre-order/purchase.

As I've said before, the 5.1 surprised me when I first got it. The stats just didn't convey to me how truly beefy this knife is.
At one point in time, I thought the Fox River was a large knife and that Arno Bernard was gigantic!

I love these types of comparison shots, thanks fellas. I used to think the same about the fox river, it seemed so big, ha! Funny how perspective can change. :)

Nice collection. Like that Arno, never seen one of those. If I didn't have my Survive Knives, I would be researching which Bark River I need.
 
Got notice of my pre-sale 5.1 in 20CV shipping today. I figure it is probably the last one out the door guys. Oh, well, except pjandyho (sp?).
 
I've got one coming in 3V from the presale. No shipping notice yet. Redwood's is still out, too, I think.
 
My statement about my 20CV is based on Ellie saying, I believe last week, that almost all of the pre-sale 20CV's had already shipped out, because they didn't need rework.

Okay, got ya now. You were speaking in reference to the 20CV presale only. :thumbup:
 
Rock, if you were one of the last 20cv, I am one of the last 3v. I can't remember how quickly they were gone after my order but it was the same day.

Yeah, I know the 3V went quick. Too quick for me. I considered myself lucky to grab a 20CV. Now I'm thinking I might have been even luckier than I thought. I'd still like to try to grab a 3V, but based on yesterday's piranha pit, I don't have high hopes of accomplishing that.

i may have to just be satisfied with a 3V 4.1, 4.7, and 7/7.

I think yesterday was worse than last Monday because it basically was only the 3v seconds that they had found since the first Monday. I think once they get through the pre sale 5.1s they will get a few more 3V versions out. I am beginning to like the piranha pit name haha

Mine must have been in the same batch because I got a shipping notice this afternoon as well.

I hope so, for more 3V. And yes, I'm hoping the piranha pit name sticks.

Congrats. Tracking says mine will arrive Thursday. I can't wait!!

Sadly the tracking info for mine didn't list a delivery date, only that it was picked up and when. I'm traveling for business and won't be home until Sunday night though, so even if does arrive this week I won't be there to get it.

I hope yours turns out to be excellent!

Thank you. And you as well. Hope your travel goes well. I was hoping this one would come on before I have to go on 3-4 weeks of travel. Looks like it will. And I've little doubt it will be excellent.
