Who's gotten their 5.1 Starter?

Someone posted in FB that he received his 5.1 in CPM-20CV ordered during the pre-sale. Might still have some hope of seeing yours soon, and mine as well. I am guessing Guy is working on fulfilling those 20CV first before all the 3V. Just guessing.
 
I saw the same thing on Facebook and got confused... it doesn't take much.

I would think the starter (preorder) knives would all go out first since they were paid for half a year before the presale knives that were sold just a few months ago. I'm sure there is a good reason. Like pj said maybe they finished a big batch of 20cv before the last of the 3v.
 
If I wanted to work for it I could probably dig up the thread where they described their order fulfillment process but I am too lazy.
As I recall they said it goes something like this:
Walk into shop, find knife parts waiting to be assembled to fill orders, compare available parts to outstanding orders,
assemble those orders that you have all the parts for, cross check orders and ship, repeat until you don't have all the parts for any outstanding orders,
collapse into an exhausted heap and start it all over again tomorrow. :)
So, lack of handle scales or sheaths in a particular color will put your order on hold even if the blades are available.
I think that this could result in some orders being filled in a seemingly random order.
 
The person may have meant to say preorder rather than presale. There have been one or two presale orders that went out because of upcoming moves, or long trips. Otherwise we are sticking to preorders before going on to presale knives. The only other reason a presale would go out before a preorder is because a stack of CPM-20CV goes a lot further than a stack of CPM-3V blades. There have been a lot more GSO-5.1 orders in CPM-3V, they also needed a bit of extra work done. Guy is focusing on 3V blades only until I give him the go ahead on CPM-20CV again.
 
Well, that's bad news for me, since my 5.1 is pre-sale AND 20CV...🙁

blasphemey!!! OD green is tops!! my absolute favorite and also what I ordered :D all joking aside, those red handles look stunning! it's great to see some of these beasts in the wild!
 
I went with OD green on my 5.1. Going to do natural brown on the 4.7 and junglejims post sealed the deal on the 4.1. Gonna be red linen there. Hey, a guys gotta be able to tell his knives apart at a glance right?
