1/ Situated here in the Philippines, I am unable to get a regular copy of the various knife magazines and so I find the info over the net very useful;
2/ The posts I read are unbiased, balanced, direct from user's experiences, honest (with pros and cons) -- unlike what one reads from the knife magazines with most articles beholden to their advertisers (this does not include you, Dex!);
3/ The forum is interactive -- unlike a magazine;
4/ I get to get "insider's info" on what's happening in the cutlery industry.
5/ I get to read posts from the manufacturers themselves -- and get to contact them.
6/ Lastly -- I become a member of this great community!

You guys had best be carefull with DC, I am making her a very sharp sword! I do have her picture but there isnt enough money out there to get it from me!

Found this place a month or so ago and have been addicted ever since. My interest in knives and swords goes back many years but have really had no-one to share it with. These forums are like a breath of fresh air to me.
Where I live there are only a couple of knife shops with horrendously dear prices and very little in the way of selection. The information I have gleaned from these forums is invaluable, my sharpening techniques have improved and the reviews have prompted a buying spree over the internet. (Hmmm not so good after all)

Number reason I come here is my love for and fascination of knives.
Number two reason I come here is to learn anything I can about knives and to share in the opinions, as well as toss in my own time and again, with the rest of the forum members.
Nuber three reason, is related to the above. I come here to keep updated on new products and for hands on opinions concerning same. Magazines and catalogs are great, but periodical, this forum is constanly refreshed and updated.
