Why Busse over less expensive knives?

To Shoot or not to Shoot, that is the question?
If he wants me to shoot it, I might oblige. Nuff! said. Or maybe there will be a governors pardon in the last seconds.

Whether it can take it or not ...Don't shoot it. :barf: :barf: :barf:

My apologies if I was the one that got this going... This is how I see it...

Shooting a busse:

1) If you choose to do so, DON'T expect Busse to warranty it (Who would?)
2) If you "feel" the urge to post pics of it, be fair by shooting and posting pics of other knives
3) Why in the world would anyone want to shoot a knife? (Me? Why do I stay up here for 9 months of winter, 6 months of dark? Same reason...I'm nuts)
4) If it's gonna cause a problem, just take it into private and let me know.

And, I APOLOGIZE if this minor discussion was due to my words. I now leave you with this.... :footinmou

Don't know if it's been said but there is a gentleman at the INDY 1500 who still has his original Badger Attack that took a round from, I believe a .40, WHILE he was wearing it and it just smudged that nice smooth coating. I've seen it and it's real.
Just my experience

hey rob, you hittin' that overproof stuff again?
tube fasteners, crinkle coat...
a2
:D :p :D

Hmmm... Got a point there. I was just recalling the original post from way back when and A2 stuck in my mind.

BTW Jerry said he WOULD warranty a shot Busse if you provided x rays of cracked ribs or whatever showing you were wearing the knife at the time and it saved your bacon. That would make it a bit more interesting, no?

That would make for a good story... I'm game. :D Only thing is, would he warrant a knife intentionally shot that was on said person

I still stand by my above post. Shooting a busse proves nothing and is pointless, but to each man his own.

Shooting your knife on the flat side, will most likely end in destroying your knife. . . . especially with a high power rifle cartridge.

The SWAT guy whose bacon was saved by stopping a 40 S&W was one incredibly lucky boy. The combination of INFI and an overworked guardian angel should be credited. My nod goes to the guardian angel for the majority of that protection!!!!!

I need beer. . . . . .

Well, if you "do" choose to shoot it, maybe save that for last after you've gotten a chance to use the knife first.

No worries.. Like most things I get a hankering for slowly fades away. Cept' somoa's. Mmmmmm.

There's a new knife name... Alaskan Somoa Cookie Cutter :D

Edit: I'm going to go drink now. Gotta get the taste of my foot outta my mouth. Keeps ending up there lately :(

. . . Oh yeah, and remember that our warranty does not cover "intentional" damage . . .

Knife gets accidentaly shot in the line of duty. . . you're covered. . . .

Knife gets intentionally shot during target practice. . . you are either insane, drunk, or Voracious . . . . either way (unless you are Voracious) you're not covered. . . .

Nuke on Psycho Hogs!!!! . . . .. . . . . These are my people!!!!!

Insanity... I don't suffer from it, I embrace it. :D ;)

Herbie.. A lot of hogs have used their knives in the kitchen too. So if you can't get out immediately to test it, chop up some stew meat or somethin'. These guys have posted some great conco...concoti...concoction...some great meals

As soon as we have confirmation, I will edit again... What is a good drink?

A good drink is the one closest to you, just like the best knife at the time of need is the one in your hand.

All of my SHBAs have smooth or slotted fasteners and smooth paint, were many SHBAs made with hollow rivets and crinkle paint?

To have the Boss Hog put it this way just chokes me up. I couldn't have put it better myself. :)

"If your fingers smell of INFI, you are my brother."

only the last few were done that way, i have two of them, ones a user for sure! i'll bet there arn't 20 of them like that

My hollow tubed, crinkle coated SHBA is INFI.

Jerry had a close up look at that one at Indy a few years back as I recall. I got to see it there also. Freaking amazing man. The lord was definitely on the LEOs side. Lucky thing it was a hollow point, as I recall the LEO telling me, and the angle had to have been just right too.

I'm curious if his knife was on a shoulder harness, or his belt?

I'm keeping my eye peeled my first Busse. Something with a 3 to 4 inch blade. One with some use is preferred.

It was on his harness.

IIRC, it is smooth coat, despite the appearance in the pic.

He carries it to each show, but I've talked to him about retiring it to protect the "splash" and ensure it shows when his grandkids are around. The splash size has decreased since I first saw it.
