Why Busse over less expensive knives?

Anybody got a size, and picture of a Badger attack.
pic of actual knife about 3 months ago when i got it is above, in this thread.
blade is 4.5". oal is 9.75"
and it's lookin forward to a good ol' country ass whuppin'!
throw it, shoot it, whatever.
you don't HAVE to go cliff stamp on it, but if you wanna, go for it.
i can satin it back up afterward.
and i'd like to see some pics of the dogs too.

A man and his wife were driving home one very cold night when the wife
asks her husband to stop the car. There was a baby skunk lying at the
side of the road, and she got out to see if it was still alive.

It was, and she said to her husband, "It's nearly frozen to death. Can we take it with us, get it warm, and let it go in the morning?"

He says, "O.K., Get in the car with it."

"Where shall I put it to get it warm?"

He says, "Put it in between your legs. It's nice and warm there.

"But what about the smell?"

"Just hold its nose."

The man is expected to recover, but the skunk she used to beat him with
died at the scene.

not really. i'm a dick, for the most part. but, i'd like to get someone elses opinion. jay has good taste in knives; dozier, hankins, covington and the like,
i'd truly like to hear a review. purely and clinically analytical. or something.

Didn't figure you for a stilletto man........
yeah like you could ever forget those eff me pumps i wore to blade last year!

Ah, yes... Yet another reason to be a Busse-man: the entertainment value of this forum alone is worth more than a television could throw at me in a month's time! i already sent the IdahoSkunk roadkill joke to someone, (after i picked myself off the floor, that is :D ) and where else can you find people who will SEND you one of their favorite knives/[or insert any other named item here] just to let you revel in the experience yourself? Huh? Where? Will Harley riders loan you their bike for a month? Nada... How about Sig Sauer owners? Hardly! Will a Samarai loan you his War Tachi for a month and tell you to abuse it well...? NotaChance!
The action's all here... Why go anywhere else?

Jody has advised me to treat it like a "$5. Whore"
Ok Now how do you treat a $5. whore?
That should be good for a dozen more replys.

He did say do whatever I want to it. Wonder how the Badger will take one .223 in the side.? Hummm! A final signature Herbieduke test. Has a good ring to it, don't you think?

Remember kids, this is a family forum....

Doubt the knives were intended to take broadside shots, but I am aware of one that did. Both owner and the blade survived. Actually, it was an original version Badger Attack. Okuden has a pic of it on his site modleing for a sheath pic.

HERBIEDUKE, I hope you find your answers. I know the rest of us have.

Okay, sticking to the original question:
I think (possibly) that many people shy away from Busses is that they seem TOO GOOD. You know what they say about things that are just too good to be true.
It's case like Busses that break standard convention.
You might even say that Busses are Jimi Hendrixes of the knife world.
Rock On.

It’s all about the warm fuzzy feeling for me. When I’m out in the woods, I always feel better knowing I’ve got my busse, or as my wife would call it “my security blanket”.

Sorry to get in on this post late. Boy, you guys sure are nice here, I posted on another forum (and not on the Strider forum) that "I was no longer interested in a Strider SMF because after seeing and handling one, I didn't feel they were the price", man, you would have thought I personally attacked each one of them! They called me degrading names and such. At least everyone is more civil here and is much more understanding of a question that could have been taken as an offensive post.
Sure, I have a few Busse knives, I also have many other knives from other makers, I think they all have their place. There is a big difference in pictures and the actual feel and performance of a knife, the feel and performance part can only be judged in person, give the Busse a try, I think you will come to the same conclusion the rest of us have.

No regrets!

We'll see how my FSH stands up against a .44 when it arrives..

I know I shouldn't and that the warranty doesn't cover my stupidity, but I still have the urge to shoot it... :D

...post your review here and in general discussion.
That's a mighty generous offer of you, sir. Done with typical Hog style, panache, and generosity. :)

Why not have Herbieduke just post the results of his Busse Whack-fest in the Knife Reviews & Testing forum?

Uh..........

...... isn't that decimal point in the wrong place for someone who's as tough as a Busse knife? Methinks $.5 it is.

Or do you Hogs hang out in better neighborhoods than I do? ;) :D

I'll advise you on a few things you shouldn't do, this basically reflects Jerry's warranty policy.

1. Do not cut through it with an acetylene torch/plasma cutter/abrasive cutoff wheel/you get the picture I hope

2. Do not clamp the blade in a well secured vise in a heavy table, it may be the worlds toughest, but it's still steel, it'll break if you pull hard enough.

** here's an example of such, note the comments on the difficulty involved compared to the trailmaster on the previous page** http://www.bladeforums.com/magazine/trial/csvsbusse-9.html

3. Jerry has previously stated that he may have issues with you shooting the blades with bullets on the broad side, don't think he's made any remarks in regards to edge on shots, the blade will do fine on those, but it's still kinda silly. ;)

Yeah, but how many people can say "I shot my knife for the heck of it"
I have issues, but atleast they're fun :D  ;)
And as stated earlier, I WILL NOT expect Jerry to honor the warranty due to my stupidity. ;)
