Why Busse?

I was wondering, besides the slightly thicker blade, better fit and finish, and name, what are the advantages of Busse over Swamp Rat and Scrapyard?

What justifies the higher price?

This is true. You have to factor in cost of Scotch, CBL, Coors Light, and Clark Bars.

!!100% INFI!!

("besides the slightly thicker blade, better fit and finish, and name"--- AND you tell me that is not enough reason  )

The best of the best of the best. INFI

900 hour heat treat in the easy bake....that's a lot of lightbulbs...

Besides all the things you mentioned. Yeah INFI, better steel. I mean you said it, the warranty is the same, but fit and finish is better, more hand work, thicker blade. SCOTCH...did you miss that part?????? So yeah that makes it better.

It's actually much simpler than the posts above make it seem.

Busse Combat knives are made without any compromises. None.

That's why they're more expensive. And that's why they're worth what he asks.

Buy a Busse knife and you have that knife...forever.

It's more expensive steel to begin with. INFI has better overall performance and WAY better corrosion resistance. Most won't notice the difference in performance because they don't push the knives far enough to be able to tell. I will admit that I don't push my Steelheart to where I can see and feel the performance difference compared to my Ratweiler. Do all Porche owner's drive their car to it's ability all the time? No, but it's nice to know you have all the performance when you really need it. I enjoy using my Busse's because of the craftsmanship and I am proud to own them. And Scotch.

Excellent answer, Dunner! 13 responses later, yours is the only one that gave me what I wanted to know.
Thanks.

Shoot !!!!

I just get Swamp Rat and spend the saved $$$$ on Scot's Whiskey.

In Scotland, they don't call it Scotch, but Scot's Whiskey.

All 3 branches of the Busse line are everything they are said to be and pretty much more knife than any sane individual would need.

When I got my first Swamp Rat in 2002 on the recco of a friend, I got introduced to Busse.

My Rats performed so well, that when I saw the prices of just the Combat Grades of the Busse's I had to say,"You're out of your freaking mind!!!"

Then I got one. Now, I have more than a few.

I use my Busse's/Swamp Rats depending on which blade shape/size suits my needs.

Whether it will stand up or not never enters into the equasion.

I have the INFI SS4 and it is an amazing knife and my favorite EDC ever but it does not have the same fit and finish as the Busse's. Also the Busse's have small runs of very cool blades like the AK, karambits and PBF's while the Scrapyard sticks to the basic Busse shape. The Rats are somewhere in between.

I love Amy O's dog avatar. That puppy has the coolest markings.

Why Busse??

Because of Amy, Jerry, Garth (and everyone else there that does not always get the credit they deserve!! ) I have never received such attention, service and courtesy anywhere else - Real Good People and Really Great Products!!

And they are all just fun - Didn't you see the famous Chicken Chase Dance pic??? Silly!!
