Why can't Spyderco make a knife that is as good as the Kershaw Leek and in...

Hi Mikael,

Welcome to our forum.

The Leek is a great design by a great designer. Ken is also a friend of mine and He has done great things for Kershaw and the knife industry.

Kershaw is a great company that has produced some really excellent product. I knew Pete Kershaw. Haven't seen him much since he retired. He used to work for Peter Gerber, along with Al Mar. More friends of mine.

I'm glad that you like your Leek. I don't think that you attraction to the Leek will cause our ELU's to change their thinking.

Sweden is a beautiful country. I spent some time there with our Swedish Distributor, Mr. Ake Lyden and his wife, Siw. Great people. Stayed at their house in Stockholm. We haven't done much in Sweden since he retired.

It's easy for me to see that you have much to learn. Hope you get to learn some of it here.

Classy as always Sal.

Yes probably all three were fakes.

So did you apologize to Spyderco and Others for jumping to conclusions and bashing a brand that you just admitted you probably only own knockoffs of, so really have no leg to stand on when it comes to saying anything about their products.

I love my little Leek collection (not as much as my Spyderco collection though :D), so this little troll better not ruin Leeks for me, or maybe he should, more money for Spydercos then.

Hi Mikael,
I'm not sure what it is that we (Spyderco) have done to offend you so, but it's curious that (literally) all of your posts are either negative or passive aggressive against us. If you'd like to share how it is that we've wronged you please do. We'd be happy to address it and move on.

There is a wealth of information available on this forum. There are thousands of people who are passionate about knives and they're some of the best people you'll never meet face-to-face (sometimes you get lucky though and get to put a face with a name). I welcome you to BladeForums. I sincerely hope your desire to join this forum was for more than just agress upon Spyderco.

Kristi

In addition to the simple fact that you guys make spectacular products, the way you choose to handle yourselves and interact with this community continues to blow me away. You have a customer for life here.

Sadly the OP came in with no information and guns blazin over in the Feedback section. Reviving a several year old thread essentially confusing opinion with fact. I too hope he takes the time to educate himself on knives, steel, locking mechanisms, designers, and he may yet become an actual contributing member. The vitriol get old fast and in the end does no one any good. Thanks to Sal and Kristi for your always gracious and kind responses.

I wouldn't purchase any popular name brand product on eBay. This includes sunglasses, watches, and knives of any brand.
I called it quits on eBay when I received counterfeit flea medication for my dog.

Comeback after you get your hands on that pm2.

^ This, would be very nice to see!

...the same price range?

Everybody owns a Kershaw Leek, it's iconic and you can even get one in 24K gold for $99.99 so why hasn't any Spyderco knife achieved the same iconic status?

Did I mention that it's iconic? :p

I don't own a Leek.

I also don't know anyone personally that owns one.

Fiction can be fun.

When you can get S110V for $150 you just gotta jump at that price point.

Yes blame the buyer as always when it comes to knockoffs.

I give credit to kershaw because they offer American made budget folders. Spyderco has a lineup of American made knives for a different market segment which I can appreciate.

The Amazon seller just cancelled the sale... can they do that? I hope that I get my money back.

Anyway I pre-ordered a Spyderco Para-Military 2 S110V Blurple from Knifeworks.com instead.

"Personer under 21 år får inte ens äga, låna eller använda springknivar eller springstiletter. "

Importing a knife in to Sweden with any form of assisted opening can and will be interpreted as importing a switchblade. This is illegal to own for persons under 21 years of age in Sweden.

Given your general conduct here I'm maybe not wrong in assuming that this is the reason why your purchase was canceled...

Congratulations on your paperweight collection. I hope all three were bought at once. Otherwise, your learning curve is a difficult one to live with. The sad part is that for the amount of money you have spent on the knives you have talked about. You could have owned both a real Kershaw and a real Spyderco. Some times it is more important to aquire less but be assured you are owning the real thing. I hope you have come to see that as it certainly seems to have been both an expensive and bitter journey. It does not excuse the rude behavior, but I am hoping you are quite young. If you are not young, well that is just one more difficult thing to live with.
