Why CONUS only? For selling items.

I only said I didn't want it after he sent me a PM the next day (after rejecting the deal the previous night) that he would sell it to me for $21 more than the asking price. I was quite mad at that point and said the whole thing had left a bad taste in my mouth and as nice as the knife was, I did not want to buy it anymore. He posted it was still available during the 2.5 hours delay the previous night. Not even a PM confirming that he returned my PayPal payment.

So which is it? Also, shipping to Canada via USPS priority small box flat rate does cost $21.

From the time I sent a PM to you stating I would add more funds for shipping, you didn't respond for almost 2.5 hours. Then, after saying no thanks, you posted that the knife was available and returned my paypal. I would call that ignoring without giving further dialog a chance. I don't see how that is untruthful on my part. Check the times on your PMs. I can post a screen shot, if you would like. I really don't understand how me almost begging to give you more money for shipping and you just rejecting regardless is being dishonest on my part. To me, that is just being a jerk. Sorry, but that's how I see it. Yes. You did respond, but not in any kind of a timely manner to allow discourse. You did not give me the chance to add more funds for shipping. I would have. Instead, you say I'm dis-honest because I don't wear a badge or something that says I'm in Canada? I don't list my location. I guess that makes me a liar in some sense in your eyes. Maybe you want everyone to respond to your ads by stating where they are from before you will talk with them? Maybe you should put that in your ad. When I first offered $10 to split the difference in shipping, you just replied with "Thanks but I will refund your payment and put the knife back up for sale." That seems pretty rude to me......

Like I said. He said no thanks to after i offered $10 to split the cost. At that point he said he was going to refund me. Right after that I sent a PM saying I would add more for shipping. Then the wait. Then the next day he said he would sell it but for more. And yes, as I've stated before, I KNOW it costs $21 to ship to Canada. My point was - how much does it cost to ship from one state to another. I said I would be more than willing to cover the difference. I am not trying to get free shipping or anything, I just would like to be treated fairly. If shipping is, let's say, $10 to send from one city to another in the US, and $21 to ship to Canada, why not just charge me the difference of $11? I'm pretty sure shipping is not free in the US. If I'm wrong on the $10 fee for shipping in the US, please provide me with a more accurate number. What really set me off is that he didn't even want to talk about me adding more shipping - he just wanted to return my money and resell the knife. I'm not sure why this was such a bad deal for him. He would have gotten what he wanted for the knife and I would have paid for shipping. I don't see the problem???

its $6 flat rate anywhere in the US in a small flat rate box which most knives fit into. Big difference between that and 21. I don't see how he did anything wrong, he said no thanks, gave you your money back and then continued to sell the knife, sounds legit to me. He has the right to sell to anyone he wants right? Does he really need to explain his decision to you?

He does have the right to sell to whoever he wants. By looking at his stats, that's pretty much all he does on the forum, which is fine, but I'm here for more than that. The reason he said he didn't want to was because of the extra shipping cost. I offered to cover that. I offered $15 after he said no to the $10. Still not good enough. The question is why not? The net to him would be the exact same as shipping to the US. But apparently this line of reason is not clear.

I'm sorry I even raised this issue as it is just annoying to me. I'm sorry I ever wanted to buy his knife. I'm going to stick with my tactical folders and fixed blades. Done with slip joints.

Why are you done with slip joints over one guys decision not to ship out of the States? Feels like one of my kids throwing a tantrum because they didn't get their way.

Did you also know that all packages 13 ounces and less can be shipped to all US Territories for $3 and Change or less, and that first class mail is handled exactly as priority mail with tracking and the same exact shipping time.

Yes Sir, I know that now. The rules changed a while back for USPS Priority and First Class.

Because for now, it's like getting stung by a bee. You want to stay away from the nest. I'm not done forever. I actually did buy another one, a nice prototype, that is on it's way to me. Once that gets here, I'm sure I will want more. I've been collecting and using knives for a very long time now and I'm not likely to stop anytime soon. Got my first knife about 44 years ago.

I see the problem.

Edit:
Dickens is a straight shooter, bringing him out like this is uncalled for in my opinion. Especially when the out of the country shipping thing was not made aware of until after the fact.

I agree, T! Having to deal with this much negative energy/drama, simply trying to, "enjoy a hobby," isn't worth this type of aggravation (IMO).

From my observations on the GB&U, more people have been screwed or scammed when dealing with tactical/modern knives than when traditional knives are involved.

Just because one deal didn't work out doesn't mean should you completely exclude those sorts of products from your purchases if you have an interest. Or you can, it's your wallet.

See my response below. I'm not really done. :)

Ask anyone I've dealt with, I'm a straight shooter as well. If he had stated conus I would not have said I'll take it. But to say I'm dishonest because I don't have my location filled in is not called for either.

The word dishonest never was mentioned.

It's implied by saying that I was not being up front with him about my location. That implies that I was hiding something (aka dishonest or disingenuous, if you will). Perhaps I don't know the rules of etiquette here but I didn't think the first thing you had to do was advertise your location. I offered to pay additional shipping. That offer was flat out rejected. As someone said he can sell to who he wants. That won't be me and I won't buy from him. It's over.

Either way, like I said, there were miscommunications on both sides. Lessons learned on both sides. End of story.
