Why do I hate Cold Steel?

Lots of knife manufacturers out there, you could always use this time and energy to shop around.

Show me another maker that produces a 4inch folding blade capable of easily piercing IIIA body armor, and Kevlar helmets ( without collapsing on my fingers) for under 175.00. I’m not going to pay over 200.00 for a Benchmade that will NEVER do what Cold Steel did. Spyderco? Yeah, there really sharp and have excellent grind but the durability is not there. These knives are overpriced for what they are expected to do. You get way more value and bang for buck from Cold Steel. Hands down, I’ll put that knife up against and other folder any day of tbe week.

No, What's asinine is a "super" Moderator who can't read what I actually said and then proceeds to interpolate something else. Why don't you take a breath, then go back and read what I actually wrote, and stop letting your emotions get you into trouble
I read "exactly" what you said... why don't you take a breath and explain what I'm missing. No emotions on my part as I currently own no CS knives... Oh, don't bring the "super" Moderator crap into the discussion, you won't like the outcome if you do.
Sigh...ok, obviously not a Cold Steel fan. Benchmade and Spyderco are also made overseas. The USA does not produce a lot of high quality knife steel so save the sly quip ok?

Ya know, guys, I'm a little confused here. I mean, The title of the thread is "Why do I hate Cold Steel", right?
And, most of us actually like CS, or at least some of their products, and none would say they're a 'fly-by-night' company.
While I don't know the dude, it seems as if Mohave Aviator is trying to be the absolute best at doing both, at the same time!
Still not sure if he hates the product and the company, loves the product but hates the company, or just loves both a little too much...

Welcome to bladeforums, and enjoy your brief stay here.

Really? Is that how it is? Is Andrea Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders running the show over here? Did i micro aggress someone? You show me where I used profanity. You show me where I personally attacked anyone. If calling out stupidity earns you a ban around here, then this site isn’t worth contributing to. I’m sure if that comment went the other way, you wouldn’t be saying anything would you? No, I’m well aware of your type. You’re a rules for thee and not for me kinda person aren’t you? Well…friend, you sure talk like one.

I'm sitting here reading this, fidgeting with my new AD15 I just bought the other day. Great knife. Great entertainment!

I think you overestimate what people expect their knives to be able to do.

EDIT: Nevermind. You're obviously not worth wasting any more time talking to.

Yep I stopped buying CS in the 80s. LT was mostly a marketing guru rather than a blade guru. I don’t envy him his success or his retirement. We can all lament the loss of a favourite product but some are acting like LT failed to provide a reciprocal reach around or something.

Friend, the only one getting into trouble is you if you keep going. Welcome to BF...read more, post less.

Ok…just so I understand you. I may get myself banned for replying (on a discussion board) to a threads that quote me, or bare relevance to a conversation I’m interested in? It doesn’t matter that I don’t use profanity or personally attack anyone, just replying too much, defending my points, calling out errors/hypocrisy and being in general opposition are enough to get me kicked off? Well….if I say things you like or agree with, can I stay?

Mod sassing can get you banned.

Mod sassing? Ok….with all due respect to everyone here. The moderator in question knew exactly what he was trying to do. We all know his comment was meant to put me in my place ( and he wasn’t acting in a moderator capacity in that comment btw). Well, unfortunately he made a mistake, and because he made that mistake and I called him out on it, that makes me wrong? I guess I should have just took his comment on the chin huh? It’s one set of rules for some people and a different set for others I guess.

..I can’t figure out why I have not...considered a CS product when knife shopping. They seem to use good materials, they have designs that I like, and arguably the best ...Maybe it’s that Lynn comes off as a pompous a$$:D or that the CS fanboys are annoying as hell if someone has a negative comment about one of their knives. (The Lynn comment isn’t fair,...) ..Anyone else feel this way about a brand or company?
you're a good example that not everyone
buys into over the top marketing hype.
or perhaps its because you never bothered
watching the proof videos?
it could perhaps boil down to a disinterest
in the styling of the entire productline
as in the deaign or looks department ?
i do underatand that its not everyone's
cup of tea when it comes to defensive tools.
hence, its natural that stigma should
eventually take a foothold about such and
such a brand; that we then tend to overlook
a particular brand. for me i have no problem
with what's being offered by a cutlery company. certain brands pitch their wares
that hit the right note, others maybe a little
too pitchy or way off key, but.so what?
on a personal note, i do not care for over
the top pricing.
so i know how to look elsewhere for what i
am willing to part with. we all have likes and
dislikes, but it would be a waste of precious
time to have any sort of vendetta against a
brand that has probably never quite needed
your money or opinions to get where it is now. for brands that i don't care for i keep
a watchful eye, ever hoping for some new
product which might finally reel me in.
we do need to have faith and hope in change, such is life. here today and gone tomorrow! now isn't that exciting enough a prospect?

So can generally trolling and insisting on making asinine insinuations about political beliefs.

Speaking of trolling, this is another reason I don't like Cold Steel.

https://www.bladeforums.com/threads...el-lock-failure-it-cut-off-my-finger.1054277/

Come on man, that's a low blow. You know full well I am not trolling. I said nothing about political beliefs. I asked if certain people were running the show. You don't like that I like Cold Steel and because I disagree, you skim over my words without ever actually reading them.

The scarry thing is, we are all weapons lovers and yet, here some of you are, attempting to bully a guy and kick him out, because he differs with you and will stand up for himself. Maybe you shouldn't carry a weapon, atleast not a sharp one.

I read "exactly" what you said... why don't you take a breath and explain what I'm missing. No emotions on my part as I currently own no CS knives... Oh, don't bring the "super" Moderator crap into the discussion, you won't like the outcome if you do.

Oh....so you think you can jump in and bully me cause your a mod and don't like what i say? You and some others have been against me from the start. All i have done is defend my view. You jumped in and missqouted me and I need to back track and explain things to you? Uh...No, you can go back and read my post and if you require edification, you can ask for it the correct way (like i did with the other gentlemen).

You don't get to jump in and be a jerk just cause you moderate. Or, maybe you do and if that's so, then ban me. You know you were wrong and you know I have not personally attacked or cursed at anyone.

I have no idea why a person would feel entitled enough to think a private company owes them something as a consumer.

To love the products, but yet call the owner a sell-out that shafted it’s employees and customers is a strange concept.

I know as a business owner myself, that I would be not only disappointed, but also insulted.

Also, M Mohave Aviator , you have to understand that in a community forum such as this one, you are going to get lots of different opinions. Many may not align with yours, and that’s ok.
