I used to just carry an Endura, but switched to the newer Police 4 FRN in K390. It's like an Endura XL with a premium steel. Great for EDC but not that robust with it's long thin blade. Living in earthquake country I wanted something tougher to pair with it and found the perfect back up in the Cold Steel Recon 1. It just disappears into my left front pocket with the left hand clip. Something heavy to balance the knife, keys, and wallet on my right side, just an added bonus. My back likes it.

Another reason is that you can carry knives that look just gorgeous together!

I dont. Knives are tools. I also dont carry 2 cellphones, 2 watches, 2 pairs of glasses, etc.

I carry a Swiss army knife and a Leatherman wave. I like the tools on the Wave, but the SAK is more comfortable to use for long periods of time. So I carry both.

1. A small SAK for the tooth pick, tweezers, file, etc.
2. A med. flipper for fidget duty and doing work for everyone who needs a knife and, doesn’t carry one.

Same as many here. I EDC a SAK Compact and a good flipper. Currently a Laconico EZC. The SAK scissors, toothpick, cap lifter and corkscrew are essential if infrequently used tools.

I clicked several in the list, but mainly cuz I feel I need them to do certain things/chores and each has their own slot. My family? they never ever understood why. For many years at Thanksgiving, it was the 'Guess how many knives Gary has on him right now?' show. Anymore that number has dwindled, if memory serves, the highest count was 10, seemed proper at the time ;)

But dwindle it has and typically any day of the week it hovers around 5;

Two Swiss Army knives, Pioneer X and Executive
One Sowbelly in the watch pocket
Clipped folder in the right front pocket
Clipped folder in my left back pocket...just incase

While the front pocket clipped folder will change flavor occasionally, the rest are truly edc types and are a pat staple carry.

and, every post should include a photo, right? ;)

Taken out of the pocket just now. The Swiss army folders ride in slip sheaths I made for them, the smaller Executive sheath is a super slim fitting sheath as it has been carried with me for a great many years and the wear does show, but, I find no need to replace it, probably close to 35 years I would hazard a guess, so, it's a constant companion!

I usually have two. One is some sort of smallish slipjoint, like a canoe or a sodbuster. The other a medium sized one hander, lately a Manix or a mini Recon. The slipjoint gets the call maybe 80% of the time. Why? Because they complement one another, each one fits a different niche. And because I can I suppose.

I noticed that most of your responses are snide, but I just wanted to mention that where I live it is common for people to carry 2 spare tires in their vehicle. You say a knife is a tool- do you only have one wrench or screwdriver when working on something? You referred to people carrying fixed blades as tacticool which is absurd. Being alone in the outdoors a lot it is nice to have a backup to a backup for just in case. Simply because you choose to carry one folder doesn’t mean it is the right decision for everyone. Just my thoughts- not trying to be rude.

I always carry two knives to work, three every once in a while if I wear cargo shorts, although that's a little much. Why? Just because. I just love knives and spend my time on the road mostly and like to play with them and admire them when I'm sitting around in between things. One of the knives is always a sort of hard user that I've already reprofiled and will be easy to tune up the edge if it gets a ding or what not, then I have a soft nylon sheath that I put my other in. The one in the sheath is usually one that I like to baby a little more.

In the winter months I tend to carry a Leatherman on my belt which comes in very handy when I need it, however when I'm wearing shorts and a T-shirt I usually just leave one at home and one in the vehicle.

SAK Deluxe Tinker in front left pocket, useful for so many light tasks, not quick to hand and not the largest blade or amazing steel.

Some modern type folder clipped to front right pocket, usually an auto of some sort, readily at hand and one handed operation, super steel so the edge will last/hold up. Fun to goof with when appropriate.

Traditional folder with a belt sheath or in the bottom of the front right pocket, good for use in public especially restaurants with poor cutlery, slows you down and reminds you to enjoy life, sometimes the old ways are the best ways, them old timers figured out a thing or two, free off all these modern distractions and hype.

I don't typically carry 2 knives on person anymore, I usually have a flashlight, pen, knife, gleezy, extra gleezy food, ridge wallet. I guess I have to much crap I carry already.

My second knife is near by in a backpack though. Also have a few in the truck.
