so far its working fine now. i only just tested a few of the links that were causing the issue before for me.

did the .htaccess file fix the problem?

i clicked the link in your signature and it opened in a new tab and logged me out. it does say https:// in the link but still not logged into it.

so i guess its not completely fixed, but im not sure why its doing that.

Yup exactly. I have clicked on my own link before and the redirect was working properly. But now that needs to be addressed as well

This is good to see. I've been so mad for the last couple weeks with having to keep logging in. I thought it was something with my phone. Still not working for me. Keep having to log in. Thanks

No www in your sig link. I'll see if that can be addressed to automatically redirect

The link in signature was added using this site. Highlight wording press LINK button the paste url of thread. Same method worked fine before its just recently since the cookies bug happened.

Tap my CRK SEBENZA LOT link in signature

As far as I can tell the problem went away a few days ago, around the time that you posted the above comment. Thanks.

I'm not surprised that the problem involved SSL, since one of the symptoms (in my Firefox browser) was a message on the URL line (under Info) that a secure connection could not be established, and even after I used https://, the connection would revert back to http://.

    Alls well that ends well.

Seems my problem with posting replies has cleared up. Also I was being logged out each time I tried to follow a link from say, a Google search, and that seems to be working now as well.

The site keeps my login however when i click on links i get a new page of the link and im logged out of the site still.
  20. Assuming you're referring to links to other BF posts:

Most of those links are to the old BF address, which included 'www' in the URL, i.e., 'https://www.bladeforums.com'. The site platform conversion eliminated the 'www', and instead just addressed the new site as 'https://bladeforums.com'. If you get linked to one of those new browser pages and are logged out there, go to the address bar above that page and delete the 'www' from the URL; then hit 'Return' to reconnect. It should take you to the correct linked page in BF, under your own account.

I've been working around it that way, every time I come across those links to older BF posts (which is pretty often). Not sure if the site admins can fix those, or somehow parse the addressing and redirect automatically. Otherwise, it'll likely come down to individual members editing links in their own posts that included the old 'www' addressing scheme for the site. I've been doing some of that, too, when I come across them in my older posts.
