Those are some awesome photos. I'm jealous.

Damn near froze my hands off taking 'em. 15°F and down into the single digits tonight. Luckily, that makes for very dry snow which is relatively easy to shovel. Still, took more than 2 hrs. to shovel our little driveway.

Epic.

When I was living in town and going to school, we had a blizzard that cancelled classes for a few days. If I remember correctly, we ended up with a little over two feet of snow overnight. Me and my roommate stayed up most of the night, shoveling every couple hours to keep up with it. Seemed to make it a little easier in smaller doses.

Either way, that's a lot of snow and lot of work for anybody. I hope you took frequent beer breaks.:D

Don't bring it if you don't mind losing it. Security is really high at the park entrance and aside from having a small SAK on your keyring, it might get taken. At least with that you could say it's always there and you forgot about it, as opposed to having to explain a fixed blade in your pocket with 200 families that are not likely to be knife knuts.

good advice, ty. i guess a remora is just as bad as having a large fixed blade to non-knife people.

Nice snow pics! We got one like that a couple winters ago. 26" overnight and wind to blow it around. My son was able to walk over the back fence, since it drifted all the way over. Doesn't really look like we'll get anything big this season...but there's still time.

Time for a snowblower Mike!
Surprisingly (if a little late) my next door neighbor offered his old snowblower to me yesterday - needs a carb rebuild, he thinks, and didn't want to deal with it. I'll go grab it when the snow abates a little. Biggest problem is where to store it, and with cars parked in the drive there's definitely not a lot of room to maneuver.....but I'll take it anyway.

Yes I did, although once opened, the SNBC Torpedos were icing up a bit....finishing the evening with this:

Ooh, that reminds me of the new bottle of bourbon on the shelf!

Damn mike thats intense man. The way people around here were acting i expected snow like you got!! I can understand school being cancelled there lol

Currently enjoying a mess of fried chicken gizzards and hearts. Delish. Neko is mad im not sharing... But he had some before they were cooked and didnt offer me any of his so screw him :D

yes, yes you should -- lots of good info at one of those -- like the class on hawk forging. Butch Sheely does good demo.

The whole darn thing looks pretty interesting. What's really got me thinking is the forge-building class... it costs a little more than just buying the parts, but it would be nice to have an experienced smith showing me how to not blow myself up :D Also Kevin Cashen is someone I really like and admire, and he's scheduled to teach 3 or 4 classes.

Honestly, if time restraints and budget concerns force me to make a choice between the two, I may even skip BLADE this year and go to the hammer-in instead.

Went to my HS's wrestling match tonight, it was intense! We ended up beating the #1 team in the state by 1 point! It is by far one of my new favorite sports to watch, it takes some serious skill

Funny time.

A man buys a parrot, but after several weeks of trying is unable to get it to speak a single word. In desperation he takes the bird to the vet. The vet tells him that the parrot has too long a beak and that is stopping him from talking.
"I just need to file it down a bit and he should be alright," he says. The man says that is okay and the vet replies, "It will cost a hundred dollars."
"A hundred bucks!" says the owner. The vet tells him that it is a very delicate procedure. If he does not file it enough, the bird still will not be able to talk but if he files too much, the bird will drown while drinking his water. The man decides to think it over and leaves with his parrot.
The next day he comes back into the vet's shop, looking both sad and puzzled.
"What happened?" said the vet.
"Well, I just couldn't afford the hundred dollars, so I took him into my toolshed and did the filing myself."
"And?"
"And now he's dead."
"Dead, what happened?"
"That's what I came to ask you about. I used a medium-grade file and got the beak down to what I thought was the right length, so he could talk but not drown while he was drinking his water."
"Sounds good so far, then what happened?"
"And then I took his head out of the vice and..."

A teacher asked the kids in her 3rd grade class: “What do you want to be when you grow up?"

Little Kevin said: "I wanna start out as a Marine pilot, then be a billionaire,
go to the most expensive clubs, find me the finest hooker, give her a Ferrari worth over a million bucks, an apartment in Copacabana, a mansion in Paris,a jet to travel throughout Europe, an Infinite Visa Card, and all the while "%@!*&%#" her like a loose screen door in a hurricane."

The teacher, shocked, and not knowing what to do with this horrible response from little Kevin, decided not to acknowledge what he said and simply tried to continue with the lesson . . . .
"And how about you, Sarah?"

"I wanna be Kevin’s hooker."

Reading back over it.... I may want to be Kevin's hooker too :D

Getting there was easy. Paying $45 a can for whipped cream was outrageous. But it's Vegas, you know?

You don't smuggle your own? Dude, Flexxx carry the can in and boom problem solved!

I would have, but that's how I carry my peanut butter.

If you have peanut butter what did you need whipped cream for?!

You just told on yourself. You've obviously never been to the Chippendales.

you sir are correct, closest I have come is a gathering with psyop and moose.

Yep, and you know how much whipped cream they went through. Biscuit brought a case and it was gone by Saturday.

Sounds like my kinda party!

Who's junk ended up in the mashed potatoes?

Therapy should always be calculated into the cost of attending a gathering.

Not sure how I missed this, but I'm glad I backtracked. Just sent myself a e-reminder to get three cases for this year.

Plus there's all those sweaty hunky dudes. And the cauliflower ear... oh, the cauliflower ear.

News updates.

"Screech" from saved by the bell was arrested last month for stabbing a guy in a saloon.

For decades we have been dividing cannabis into "groups".... sativa, indica, and ruderalis.... For decades we had it wrong. One man made a mistake and it took decades for another person to catch that mistake. Sativa is really suppose to be Indica because it originated in India. Indica is really suppose to be Afghanica because it originated in Afghan/Pakistan and ruderalis was suppose to be sativa..... Someone tell the people doing research on marijuana to not get high on their own supply :D

17°F is colder than it EVER needs to be.

That is all....... For now.
