Why don't chris reeve and mick strider do what hinderer does?

These collaberations are already being done. Just take a look at any of the Chinese lines. Also collaberation with Spyderco, Benchmade, etc.

Opps...one of the parties in each of these matchups wasn't consulted and never agreed to it.

Just because CRK, Strider and Hinderer are often compared, they don't have to follow the same business plan.
If anything, I look forward to the day when you can get a Hinderer as easily as both CRK and Strider.(that also means without paying more than MSRP)

Despite all the dumping Gerber takes from some people here, Chris Reeve finds their quality sufficiently good to have his name attached to the LHR.

Why did they stop the buck striders. And the zt strider colabs aren't what I mean really, i mean like designed similar to their own knives.

Spyderco is using a Reeves framelock on their Tuff folder.

Every frame lock spyderco has hey call a Reeve integral lock. Thats not a colab thats a out of respect they are crediting him for the design instead of ripping it off.

This thread has taught me that Allen Elishewitz, Warren Osborne, Mike Snody, Darryl Ralph, Bill Harsey, Andrew Demko, Rick Hinderer, Tom Mayo, Brian Tighe, Tony Bose, Ron Lake, Kit Carson, Bob Loveless, Jerry Fisk, Michael Walker, Jens Anso, Ken Steigerwalt, Fred Perrin, Ernest Emerson, and maybe a billion or so (maybe) other makers have done irreparable damage to their name recognition and couldn't make enough money without production collaborations. Remember guys, if you care about your name and aren't dirt poor, then you definitely don't want to license your designs.

That kinda confused me, but i think thats what I'm trying to say in a better way?

Actually, Spyderco has used a frame lock on quite a few knives: Tuff, Chokwe, Leaf Storm, Sage 2, Techno, LionSpy, Volpe, Karambit, Spin, and the SS versions of the Balance and the Cricket. I'm sure ther have been others, those are just the ones I know of.

I could try arguing the point further but it's likely not worth it. To say it simply, anything in business isn't even remotely as simple as you might expect. He probably has very good reasons for not having done more collabs.

Idk why they stopped the buck ones...I'd love to pick one up....

Idk what they were priced at but id buy one if they were reasonable. The only reason i don't buy something like a strider is because i don't or would i spend 450$ on a knife.

I got a better idea about bushiness then you might expect.

But thats not a colab thats a spyderco design with chris reeves style lock.

No. They tooks hints from CRK on the frame (bead blasted titanium) and even the blade design.
The thing that you can't see past is the spyderco influence. If its a spyderco knife then it has to look somewhat like a spyderco.
Listen, you want a reeve/spyderco collaboration and this is what it looks like.
You don't have to buy it, but i don't think spyderco is making a sebenza any time soon

Oh I wasn't saying you didn't! :) It was a broadly targeted statement. I can simply imagine a multitude of reasons why he might not be in the mood for collabs right now, and a lot of them have to to with things like brand concept, company mission, and even just not needing or wanting to capitalize on the opportunity. I'm sure it's not for lack of offers!
