hardheart, I am not going to argue. The law is the law. It has been enforced to included butterfly knives and Buck 110s when the feds so chose to do so. Your logic would be great if those guys in the long black robes bought it, but they don't. If you wish to argue that since you have to flick your wrist to create inertia and therefore the knife is not automatic, well I wish you alot of luck my friend....In NY they used the term centifugal force, and there have been several lawyers that have argued a flick of the wrist does not create this type of force, but they have never won that yet. Hey I am a knife collector too like everyone else here, but I have seen many cases where the courts have ruled in this manner. Remember that Syderco was charged with a Customs violation for importing parts for a butterfly knife, and then using the USPS to mail them. I believe Sal was well represnted by lawyers, yet I understand from the Federal court filings that the fine in lost merchandise and cash paid was around $400,000. Perhaps you could have done better for him...
