Why is the ESEE 5 not as popular as...

Price. Lots of BK2 buyers out there that won’t shell out ESEE-5 money. Personal observation and conversations with several BK2 owners. Cheaper sheath and scales keep the price down. Lots of people won’t pay over $100 for a knife. I made it by just fine for a long time without paying more than $50 for a knife. I’m not a knife person, when I paid $100 for my ESEE-4 that was the most I had ever spent on a knife, in fact my ESEE blades are still the most expensive ones I own.

Sell the ESEE-5 for $60-75 and you’ll sell 10x as many or more. With that said, it’s not reasonable or possible to do so.

Ok, there are always exceptions to any rule....

Haha. Where is the pic of Jeff with the 2 dudes toting AKs and him in the middle with his RAT trucker hat on?

The difference between users is that while Beckerheads are starting bowdrill fires to serenade each other next to, we are out practicing sawing through restraints with our boot laces, covering our tracks to escape from “The Man” (and crazy women-folk who relentlessly throw themselves at us) and doing other important man shit. One thing we can all agree on is that our wonder steel isn’t going to save our ass if we ever need it so we better stop lining our blades up for nice snapshots and go build skills or do something else productive.

The pain, the pain...
The only cure to this sort of pain is more knives.
I should get an ESEE 5.
THEN I'll be pretty!:D

Exactly, we guarantee our knives to make you pretty and get you laid....well, maybe get you laid.

As a general rule, ESEE users are prettier than Becker users. Just look at Moose.

Jeff, you gots to lay off the drugs for awhile & stay out of those whirly birds, let that gray matter re-generate . . . :D
Be safe.
p.s.: Moose, does this count as a BK post since Becker is in the original post ??? :D

Man, you people are dumb. Moose is a Becker fan, not ESEE. My point is all of the ESEE nuts are prettier than Moose

I still haven't paid $100 for a knife. Because of budget constraints my only ESEE knives so far are the Izula and the Lite Machete. I don't have a BK-2, but I do have a BK-7 & a BK-9 (each cost around $70). TBH I am not a big fan of the BK-2 or ESEE-5 - why do I need a knife that thick? I might chop and baton, but I think that the BK-9 & ESEE Junglas are much better at chopping due to length + weight. For batoning the BK-7 or ESEE-6 do just fine, I prefer the extra length vs the unneeded extra thickness.

I guess the ESEE-5 or BK-2 make good sharpened pry bars, but that isn't what I look for in a knife.

If I had more money to spend on knives then I would buy more ESEE though - a HEST folder would be pretty darned sweet!

That's it. If I wasn't so hard to work, I'd caption that one "Bringing Sexy Back". :D

Well, there you go. All the women would be falling at my feet if they saw this picture of me gently holding a coca leaf. So, I only bring it out on special occassions.
