Price. Lots of BK2 buyers out there that wont shell out ESEE-5 money. Personal observation and conversations with several BK2 owners. Cheaper sheath and scales keep the price down. Lots of people wont pay over $100 for a knife. I made it by just fine for a long time without paying more than $50 for a knife. Im not a knife person, when I paid $100 for my ESEE-4 that was the most I had ever spent on a knife, in fact my ESEE blades are still the most expensive ones I own.
Sell the ESEE-5 for $60-75 and youll sell 10x as many or more. With that said, its not reasonable or possible to do so.
