Why Lynn Thompson Rules!

Villains! Villains in our Midst!!. 3G has does a fine job of unmasking the evil amongst us. That ole SlamFire defending LT. And there are others…..We all know LT is a anagram of “Lucifer is Satan”. Minions who defend LT have aligned themselves with the Devil Himself!! Guardians of the righteous, identify the reprobate, cast them from the Temple, and cleanse this forum of evil’s foul breath!. Get the wood, bring the matches, burn the Witch, burn the Witch!!

Har, Har, Har

Then LT can take his rightful place ruling in hell! While Sal meekly markets his wicked knives under the guise of mere "tools".

Hi,
But he's goin' sell those G.I Tantos by the trainload. At about $25.00 a pop (plus invest in a decent Eagle type sheath .. about $40.00).
Sure beats $ 350.00. Total initial investment ... call it $/- $70.00. Even if you "break" or lose a couple of them, still way ahead.
And I do own a number of Striders and CS knives. I'll buy atleast a couple of knives as Christmas or Birthday gifts.
Just my opinion.
John

As its name suggests, our G.I. Tanto is a no-nonsense tactical knife that comes with a legion of practical uses. It may be lean and spare, but it delivers the goods where they count the most! The broad Tanto point blade, integral quillion guard, and Paracord wrapped handle, exemplify a tactical knife stripped down to its bare essentials. It’s ground razor sharp out of 1055 carbon steel with a hard spring temper and protected by a black, rust resistant finish so it’s ready to take all the abuse you and Mother Nature can dish out. Heavy, sharp and wonderfully balanced it’s easy to throw by either the blade or handle and it hits with real vigor. In a survival or self-defense situation, it can be quickly and easily converted into a spear or war club. Just remove the Para cord wrap and use it to lash the blade securely to a suitable wooden shaft! Best of all, it’s a great value. Please don’t throw away hundreds and hundreds of dollars on similar knives sold by convicted felons and rip off artists posing as elite “military operators”. Get the real G.I. Tanto from Cold Steel and get more than your money’s worth.

Specifications:
Overall: 12"
Thick: 4mm
Weight: 10.4 oz.
Steel: 1055 Carbon

Sheath: Cordura

I want one just for SPITE! lmao! Plus LT said "please" :)

I would like to know how many people here who are slamming these knife company owners have actually met them face to face. Or if you guys have just watched proof videos, or read things and decided these men are evil. I own alot of cold steel knives among many others including spyderco, tops, crkt, Swamp Rat, Scrap Yard. My decision to buy these knives have never been based on the actions of the owners of the company but rather my own research into the style, steel, and reputation of the knife. Look at strider. I have read alot of things about him these past days about his military past and his advertising, but no one can say he hasn't done good either. Or that he hasn't made an awsome knife. I was just wandering about this because if you put a post with LT or cold steel on it, you get pages and pages of arguments about his character but rarely anything about the qualitly of his knives. Im sure he is sitting at home reading all this laughing at all of us for giving him so much publicity.

Also I was thinking about buying a GI tanto when they finally become avalible. It seems like it will be a good use knife for a cheap price. But Im also liking the new bowie bushman. I have the original bushman and it's a handy knife that has served me for years.

Nope, never met the man. Don't really need to meet or talk to someone to know I don't care for their actions.

On the upside, I doubt that LT is a bad guy. From what I've read, he's a Vet. and he makes quite a few donations to numerous causes, both of which make good in my eyes.

Bbbbuuuuttttt......... His business practices leave quite a bit to be desired and as I posted already in this thread, I think his advertising is detrimental to the knife community as a whole. So, regardless of the quality of his knives, which has been hit or miss for me personally, I won't send anymore of my hard earned money his way.

I have more Spyderco knives than any brand. Including many no longer made. I just think its funny that grown men let somebody like LT get to them. The man saw an opening back in the mid 1980's took it has made millions. And no big oil doesn't have to worry about marketing. They know they can screw us irregardless of that. Probably overcharge? That's laughable when you see what profits they post. What is it about knives that brings this out in people. All this whining about something you don't even have to buy. Who cares what LT does? I've known for sometime most his products are not as good as he claims. He has a few good buys and some aren't. Big deal don't buy them if you don't like him/them. (I doubt a man like you buys anything made in China the way those workers are treated and the money these big American companies are turning on their backs)

LOL ..... the only one whining here is you, about oil prices. I had hoped you'd be able to see it for yourself. But sadly, it's obvious I have to spell it out for you.

Some things, you don't have a choice. I think Con-Ed is run by a bunch of morons. But it's not like I can go to another company. With knives, you DO have a choice who gets your hard-earned dollars. I choose to spend it on companies that have demonstrated integrity in their business practices. It's why I don't spend it on ColdSteel products. It's not about having to buy knives, or wanting to. I like collecting them. I like having a choice. I choose not to give my money to a man who rips-off others' designs, and then decides to call THEM rip-off Artists.

Golly gee weez mono did ya have to spell it out fer me really? duh ? well thank ya big brother. I never said ya didn't have to buy anything from cold steel now did I? :jerkit: I thought LT had your ass at knife-point making you buy them. boring................woo-hoo mono has morals he only buys his knives fom those that are heaven bound I'M VERY IMPRESSED:rolleyes: (they put GOD in charge at BUCK KNIVES so I bet ya got a load of those)

Im with you Jill, I love the proof dvds, who cares what the liberals think and what laws they dream up and try to pass. Not as though they wouldnt have all on their own, without LT's help. And I think you are also right about there being a hell of a lot worse evil or at least ethical breeches than what Thompson gets up to.

LT is fun. Fun to watch , fun for alot of people to hate, and his products are over the top fun to play with. In my book you havent really lived until you've beaten a watermelon to death with a sjambok.

What's the difference in shooting a watermelon or milk jug filled with water and throwing a heavy blade at it? Do people really think knives are meant to be non-weapons? You are right the liberals want to ban everything that can hurt anybody. When a man at a bar stabbed another with a fixed blade knife at a nearby town, they quickly passed an ordinance against carrying fixed blades in the city limits. I know that made me feel much safer while shopping there:rolleyes: ! Never mind the facts just ban what the guy used! I guess next time if its a folder they will ban those. No guns and knives aren't harmless but the person misusing them needs to be punished, not all.

Yes, I really feel that my knives are not to be used as weapons.

My knives are utility tools, nothing more. No more a weapon than a frying pan, baseball bat or tire iorn. Have knives been used as weapons? Of course.
So have cars, do they advertize the newest AUDI as a turbo charged, fuel injected, air conditioned killing machine?

How many people have you cut with one of your blades?

How many packages have you opened?

The fact that an item can be used as a weapon doesn't make it one.

My knives are not to be used as weapons either unless its in defence. Its sorta hard to think much other thought went into some other than a weapon. Sure I carry knives I'd never use for anything unless it was self defence. I see nothing wrong with that.

I used to really like Cold Steel knives---that is, until I started doing some real heavy camping this summer in the back-country in New Mexico and a couple fell apart on me (cough, cough, Scimitar, cough, Ti-Lite, cough, etc., cough). The only quality folders they have are the Voyager series---I love the X2---and the Ultimate Hunter. The old Shinobus are really great too. I've been thinking about getting a Triple Action but I don't want to get screwed. IMHO, quality is hit or miss, I don't know Lynn but his business moves don't make me happy, and the customer service department SUCKS. That's my summary. I've gotta give him props for the DVDs though.

Those two knives would be my last choice for camping. The blades aren't even shaped for it. I don't doubt his customer service sucks once my Dad had a Bush Ranger backordered for weeks, then they sent a 2nd. So that goes back and it takes weeks again.
