Why no new folding tanto designs?

Sig- I like your add-ons. I'd be in!
Would a 4 way pocket clip be asking too much?

I know the discussion has largely been about a Lum tanto - but what about a Bradley tanto?

For steels what about a clad S90V with 154CM sides or a CPM 20CV clad with CTS-XHP.

I like the Bradley!
But, I just received a Double Bevel and I really like it! I was not sure. The handle is incredible but that's no surprise. Look who designed this one... Mr. Bob Terzuola.
I highly recommend a Double Bevel.

Do you know what this thread has reminded me of? For the last few years I've been exploring tons of knife brands but at the end of the day, knives have come and gone.

I've finally settled on preferring Spydercos. I only have a modest collection of folders but they're all Spydercos and I'm OK with that now.

Gglotz83, i dont see them on my mobile device. Do you mean like a gayle bradley in a tanto, or something like Bradley(company) style of tanto. Both good choices either way.

A kirdashi might be a good idea for a tanto to produce, fixed or folder. I would prefer folder just to see how small we could get it. Maybe make it part of the ladybug or dog tag series of folders. A kirdashi would look cool with the spydie hole on it.

cchu518- I agree. I have more Spyderco knives now than ever before.
I agree with the Spyderdashi too.

I'm unfamiliar with the Lum tanto's specs but the look of it definitely caught my attention.

Liner lock ? How big is it ?

I'd be interested in a sprint for sure. But admittedly , I'd hope for a Ti framelock version.

Colorado made titanium frame lock (maybe fluted) with lockbar insert and a CPM 3V blade! Or use the dark green G10 like on the 204p Sprint millie. Keep the blade a little thinner to take advantage of 3V's toughness and maximize cutting performance!

Well, while we are just throwing random Lum Tanto Folder vote ideas out there; I'll say HAP40 and grey G10, and a Compression-lock. Keep the overall design the same pattern/silhouette, same blade and grind.

+2
sounds like a winner

Good idea!
I think there was a thread about that awhile ago, either here or the home forum...

But since it would/could be difficult to design a Kiridashi to use a functional size Spyderhole and not be too odd (I mean anything can happen!), maybe that would be perfect for a Roadie type variant!
Great size for a small Kiridashi, and would give those people who like the Roadie, but want a pointy tip an option for a small pocket floater 2-hand opener traditional alternative.
Would appeal to international market as well.

...still can't take it on a plane though, !*%#%! :grumpy:

I agree, great knife. But I don't think it sold well.

johnny- I think the blade grind did not help with the sales. I did not like the grind at first but I do now. I think I understand it.
The Double Bevel works well as working knife and as well a gentleman's knife. I'll be EDCing this folder for quite some time!
