Started a thread in the Hinderer subforum. It seems better there. Like I said, I don't care. What I do care about is people getting the correct information, whoever it may come from. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but I've not said anything wrong that I refused to back away from. What was incorrect was immediately rescinded without any prompting from anyone else. I saw what was incorrect and changed it. That's it. And you're right Craytab, asking for sources is always acceptable. Do you have anything of value to add?

I had just read the bodog post where he was bowing out of the hinderer discussion. Then craytab post this ^^. This was the funniest thing I read all day!

I've made no attempt to hide how I feel about anything. But here's the deal. It's justified. If you dealt with the same stuff you'd be permanently soured too. Most of the time I keep my mouth shut about it and I usually stay a mile away from the Hinderer subforum. It's not until people start asking genuine questions that I give answers that differ from the mainstream. I cannot help that my opinion differs. It just does. It is based on real experience though. Not taking a safe queen and screaming about how great a knife and it's warranty is or any such crap.

There's very little real information about what exactly gets done with some of these knifemakers and it's incumbent upon most of us go weed through the bs marketing and other garbage put out there. Without that people would still think Kizer was shady and Tim Britton was a stand up knifemaker. People would still think Strider was actually in the special forces or whatever. Andre de Villiers would be making great knives and is great to deal with. Will Moon makes great knives, etc etc etc. It just so happens Hinderer's warranty kind of sucks, his marketing is bogus, he's likely outsourced blade grinding, at least in the past, and his customer service rep Rob Orlando is a huge douche. Take from that what you will. If you're cool with all of that, then more power to you. If youre cool with strider claiming what he claimed and still buy his knives, great. If you buy and carry a Will Moon knife and like him and his product, then good for you. If you carry a Tango and like it, good for you. It's not until you say Kizer robbed Tim Britton that people should object. Well, I'm objecting to the notion that Hinderer's warranty is good. I'm objecting to the notion that his product is safe, at least one or two generations of them anyway. That's what I have and that's what I'm standing on because I've personally seen it, just like others saw that Will Moon sucks, that Andre de Villiers sucks, and that Tim Britton sucks.

Here, straight to the point from the mouth of a Hinderer subforum mod. In a nutshell, yes, blade grinding has been outsourced, at least in the past.

For someone that is a supposed professional civil servant, you do leave a lot to be desired in terms of how you communicate and listed (both skills required to be at 100% to be good at that kind of work). We can do without the insults. If you have a problem with the individual employees of a company, take it up with them directly. Insulting the company reps does NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING to prove your point. It's turning around and actually biting you in read end. No, it's not because of the fanboys (that would be the first weak deflective response) but because of the lack of civil communication. As always bodog, it's not always what you say, it's almost always been HOW you chose to say it that goes down like a mouthful of broken glass. I'm surprised on a whole new level. I have worked as a first responder (non LEO) and my best friends are Deputy Sherriffs, EMTs, RNs, and FFs, the vast majority are respectful and disciplined, you seem to have axe to grind with so many things. However, that is your issue to deal with, don't make it everyone else's. SOme folks just don't understand how and what the meaning of polite disagreement and mutual respect really means.

With that said let it go in this thread, when people ask questions give your honest opinion and move on that's what I do, occasionally someone is grateful and educated on something and its worth it.

Also don't be so bull headed, concede sometimes when your wrong and learn from it and move on. Despite all the friction from personalities blade forums is a good place. Learn how to disagree and take your lumps as they come.

You're right. I'm human. I grew up a rough neck and it's hard to take the rough out of a rough neck. The military enouraged it, the agencies I've worked for have enouraged it to some extent unless you're on the job, in public, or on the stand. Among your peers, by all means, let steam off. I'm somewhat controlled here. If I was among my actual peers you'd hear language (from me AND them) that would make a hooker blush. And you'd have to look out for saying something that would lead to a punch in the mouth. It's not like that here. People say what they want and you guys(mods) try to corral us. FYI, I have some great stats according to the DEA so I must be doing something right.

I can separate Strider politics from Strider Knives as a start, secondly, I appreciate what Strider has done for the military before and the "big scandal" and continue to do to this day.

Furthermore, "the big scandal" was a forum thing, and non of that hate transfered far beyond that. I would imagine that's because Mick and Duane, being the Gazillionair's that they are, paid the army off to allow them to continue to keep servicing the military with their knives, whether an SMF is the knife received by top graduating Rangers, or all the NSN numbers they have acquired....

I read all of that thread, and the only people taking the side of Mick and Duayne where people that actually knew them, and knew more about the situation than any of us do.
I will take their opinion over all the keyboard warriors on the planet.

But this is all off topic, and I apologize for that.....
