Why the $old???

Wouldn’t this just be beneficial to the members to share this info?

. I belong to plenty of forums it’s only this is the first one I’VE been on that requires a paid membership to do just about anything. .

The exchange is for buying and selling and not designed for educating. You may be able to learn something anyway, but that is not what it is designed for.

Most of BF is free, but there are some perks for paid membership, selling and PM's being 2. PM's you can work around. Different forums are going to come up with different ways to keep the lights on, but one way or another those bills have to be paid by someone. It would be worth a paid membership to me even if I could not sell, but nice that I can.

No actually I don’t. Why do you assume things you don’t know when I just gave my opinion. Doesn’t mean shiat to anyone but me so why so defensive.

Like I said I support forums I like with my dollars but none of them REQUIRE me to do it just to ask questions or enjoy the sight by putting a picture in a thread. Wouldn’t this just be beneficial to the members to share this info? I’ve just been checking this place out to see if I would want to spend my money here to be a member but some people seem to be very uptight here, why is that?

Now to charge to be able to sell, sure I can go with that, I’ve suggested that on other forums to keep it to being turning into Armslist or Gunbroker or various coin forums I’m on.
Also why do people take things sooo literally? Just trying to have a conversation and find out reasons for things that I don’t get. I belong to plenty of forums it’s only this is the first one I’VE been on that requires a paid membership to do just about anything. There may be others that I have not visited or don’t have any interest in.

Eh, not really. Besides the ability to sell or post trade threads, the only real major forum function that requires a paid membership is the ability private message people. Even without that, profile messages are relatively private way to communicate with others.

You can post pictures without a paid membership, just need to upload them to a site like Imgur. A fair amount of paid members still use this method.

You don't need to pay a penny to ask questions here. The only time you would is if you're asking about valuation of an item. That does require a Gold due to previous members posting those types of threads in a veiled attempt to sell without a proper membership. Blame the shysters.

A couple of subforums are only accessible to paid members (for good reasons), but most of the other perks are just personal taste features like avatars and signatures.

To get back on topic, a question from the curious.

For those that like to use Exchange threads to research prices, what type of or specific knives are you looking for to gauge your prices?

Whatever knives I'm currently looking to acquire or unload at the time;) . Seriously, could be traditionals yesterday, Busses today and CRK's tomorrow:)

I haven't sold in awhile, but I started off by leaving the price in after selling it with "Sold" on either side of the price, but I would get multiple emails a day about some of the harder to find sprints with "Sold $250 Sold" for the price asking if I would take $150 or if trade 12 bottle caps and a pair of LNIB toenail trimmers for it, or somebody asking I know it says sold, but do you still have it or another one I could buy? Or comments in my thread saying I'll take _____ after it was marked sold. So I started taking the price out so I wouldn't have to waste my time replying or have my thread clogged.

And some can't see the legitimate harm there is from the price being removed. It's just a personal preference. Some do it, some don't, just as simple as that.
Maybe so, I just think how uninformed I would be if Facebook took all my news sources down...I never would have heard about Pizzagate or the Deep State or that Katy Perry is really Jon Brent Ramsey.
