Wicked edge headed my way! Along with my small seb 21

I also have had my WE for quite some time and these are my tips:

-Go to WE website and learn how to properly clamp the knife or "finding the sweet spot" (not too far back or far forward)
-Practice with kitchen knives (will break the stones and give you practice)
-GO SLOW AT FIRST; make sure you are contacting the blade in its entire motion
-ANGLE CUBE!
-Sharpie is a must. and a good magnifying glass to be sure you are removing the sharpie where you should (believe me, I have done all the stones to the strops to find out that my knife is dull because I'm not hitting the apex.
-Write down your setting for a particular knife so you can reproduce the angle and do touch ups faster
Enjoy

Wicked edge gets here tomorrow and have about 20 knives I bought yesterday at a thrift shop for 15 bucks to break the stones in on!

This is the kit I bought, I saved 30 bucks by making my own base at work today!

I bought the same kit last week and also ordered the ultra/extra coarse stones, a wicked edge case and the paper stone base. Debating about buying the upgrade arms and the ceramic stones. I just bought a few different blade shaped Smith and Wesson knives to practice on before I touch up my Sebenza's.

I tried it out for the first time last night and I really like it. It is a change from the paper wheels I normally use. I got my angle cube in the mail yesterday and I highly suggest getting one. The angles weren't exactly true going by the marks on the WE but the angle cube helped finding the right position.

Cool deal, I picked up a bunch of stuff last night for my wicked edge I bought some dry lube, 1000,1500,2000 grit sand paper an angle cube, and some Blue painters tape but gushing by the tracking on usps my thing hasn't left California since the 3rd and it is supposed to be "delivered" today

Its a good system from what I have heard, but I prefer and use the sharpmaker for ALL my sharpening. Before that was the systems just like the sharpmaker that proceeded it. I have been sharpening knives for 30 years and have always used this crock stick style system. You can get a polished edge easily with the sharpmaker using the ultra fine stones. Sharpening has more to do with " feel " than angled gizmos that other systems revolve around.

I still use the paper wheels with the wicked edge. Having good luck getting the perfect angle then take the burr off with the slotted wheel. Works great?

I'm still waiting for mine I hope it didn't get lost :/ it was supposed to be here yesterday but on the shipping it departed Friday from Cali and never got an update on arrival in Texas it's probably because of the weather I can't wait for it to get here will definetly be a lot of pictures to come when I get it!

This was 20* angle. I only have up to 600 diamonds. I went up to 2000 with sandpaper rubberbanded to the stones. Then a piece of leather with green compound banded to the stone.

Okay, cool mine will be here today!, I will post my first ever wicked edge after I get off work and to the house to play with it!

That's a beautiful bevel! What's your technique to keep it uniform and avoid a widening towards the tip if I might ask? It looks perfect on that picture.
