We have a bunch of them at the shop I work at. Really works of art to behold. Obviously more geared towards business suit types, but very solid build quality and materials you won't find anywhere else except in high-end customs.

Also out of my price range. :o

I've only got to handle one WH and it was beautiful, but like forty said, geared twards the people who wear suits everyday, and in that role, they are amazing amazing knives...stunning quality and amazing F&F

Excellent "Gent's knife". maintain their price well on the secondary market but very occasionally you might score a good deal on ebay. go for it if you get a chance for a 'good deal'. i have one. paid $500 for it. no regrets. it's very nice (auto).

As already mentioned, they are primarily designed for upscale carry and the F&F is second to none. They are usually very light weight. You can find them in the $500-$700 range without all the embellishments, or go for the tricked-out fully adorned versions for $1,200+. With the latter, you are paying for the more exotic materials (e.g., diamond thumbstud, hand carved silver, rare scale materials, damascus blades), and in my opinion, they are a bit over-the-top. They like to use ZDP-189 for a lot of their blades and they seem to heat treat it well. In all, they are excellent knives that are worth the price (IMO) and, like already mentioned, seem to hold their value relatively well in the secondary market. WH's service dept is also very good, the couple times I've had to use them (not their fault - I buggered up the knives).

Not really my style of knife. They are nice for sure but not for me. I would rather have a custom for those prices.

They are very nice knives. They now have evolved into more of pocket jewelry than edc style knives. The older styles were more user and edc friendly IMO. I have one of their older MattLock styles, with CF inlays, and the fit and finish is unbelievable - perfect grinds, lockup, everything. I am not surprised that they have moved in the direction they have. They are true artisans!

I would rather carry a custom slip joint than a WH. The makers that freqent this forum make some amazing knives.

I EDC a W/H Tom Brown Quest "survival" knife. The blade is 3 1/8" long with a core of ZDP-189. I swapped the blade for a stainless damascus model (still ZDP in the middle). I swapped the buttons for Topaz inlaid models. I added a pocket clip for placket carry. The handles are 6/4 Titanium and have been hollowed out on the inside for weight reduction, The knife weighs 57 gm. No edge chipping in 7 years. Very little sharpening required. I wish the blade was a little longer. This is the longest blade W/H ever made in a folder. The two models out of which I cobbled together this knife have both been discontinued.

yes

at one time or another all of these are carried as my EDC

WH makes some fine knives. I carry one now and then. The second from the left and the second from the right were made by Moki for WH, I believe.

I'm jealous--I'm absolutely nuts about koftgari! :o

that's actually a limited edition piece designed by a guy here in town and then made by WH. Every year he does this and has 25 pieces made for his shop. The one pictured is from this year, #2/25. It is also interestingly the only time WH has ever used Ebony. :)

I don't know if this qualifies as an EDC knife since it's so small, but you have to admit it's a beauty. (Carbon fiber/damascus/opal thumbstud)

These knives remind me of going to a restaurant where they put 30 things on your plate desperately trying to impress you with food in ring molds and and ingredient list a mile long.

If you have good ingredients you don't need to mess with it. Just keep it simple and refined and that is something I can appreciate. These WH knives just look gaudy and embarrassing.

William Henry makes some absolutely amazing knives. They may look like light use art knives but they actually use extremely well performing materials. For example a lot of their damascus blades are laminated with zdp-189 on the inside and beautiful damascus on the outside. They run their zdp at 67 rc which is incredible and holds an edge with the very best of them. If you're looking for a nice light pocket friendly edc knife with incredible materials and immaculate attention to detail WH is a great company to look into.
