William Henry knives?

Thanks. I was just a quick shot and I left some shadow in the picture but still better than nothing.

GorillaCam for the iPhone takes some pretty good pictures once resized. Though seems the iPhone has a pretty fine focal point at close range though.

That is impressive, I'll have to tell my buddy about this GorillaCam. I'm sure he will appreciate it. Thanks.

I'd like to see a picture of it next to your minigrip and the pink native. That would provide even better perspective. Lots of people take pictures with their phones, doesn't matter if it sucks or not, this isn't a photography forum.

Okok I will snap a pic next to my other knives tonight when I get home from the office.

Really it is quite small, much smaller than a Sebenza.

Either way, ive caught the bug. I'll be adding a Sebenza too. I just need to figure out which one. Damn this hobby, its horrible!

Besides knives, the next thing I need to do is figure out how to get a mirror polished edge that I've seen some people getting with edgepro with this new DMT aligner kit I bought....

Hey freq, I recommend the Umnumzaan as a first CRK. I found the Sebenza a little on the smaller side for me. My friend bought a Umnumzaan online and it was perfect in every way.

We'll be waiting on the WH. This maybe a deal breaker for me, I wanted to get one also, but the spear point.

Yes, honestly I am considering getting a Spearpoint instead of this EDC WH.

In regards to the umnumzaan, I played with one and I didn't care for it much. I much prefer the small sebenza.

What didn't you like about the Umnum thingy Zaan. Aside from the name, I'm curious to see if my gripes are inline with other peoples.

I really like the Umnumzaan, it has just about blown everything else out my pockets since I got it .
There was a few little things I didn't like such as the handle texturing but that has grown on me over
time, as has the swedge and glass breaker. It's a great knife and IMO is up there with it's brother the Sebenza. :)

The lock never grew on me, just didn't feel good closing the knife at all. Not too keen on the placement of the thumb-studs when closed. It is a pretty good knife I will say, I'm curious to see the longevity of the ceramic balls, I've been a bit on the side of one more thing to pay $$ for and go wrong, but they seem to be quite robust as it is.

I'm pretty sure Reeve's will warranty your ceramic balls. ;)

The umnumzaan was nice, I just didn't care for the lock or the feel of it as much a Sebenza. Also, both it and the large Sebenza are too large to comfortably open with my angelic little hands.

WH EDC is at the bottom. I've already decided to dump it. :(

FYI this knife continues to grow on me. I keep opening the box, and deciding if I should keep it, and try carrying it for a day. Decisions decisions...

Indeed. ;)

Ceramic can be made quite a bit harder than blade steel... ceramic can be had in the Rockwell C upper 60's to lower 70's. The tradeoff is that ceramic is the opposite of "tough"... it's subject to fracture if subjected to impact or a large temperature shock (e.g. from super hot to quenched in liquid).

But this is a relatively static portion of the folder, so Reeve is unlikey to be breakin' balls, over hee-yuh...

For a very tiny ball, with a very small actual contact area subject to pressure and wear, it makes sense to make it hard for wear resistance, as it is unlikely to be subject to shock. A hard ceramic ball of different material than the blade steel means it won't gall and should run smoothly for a long time.

2 cents.

But I like the overall design improvements put forth in the Umnumzaan (mehnah mehnop)... yet I dig all my Sebbie's for what they are too. The design is still a landmark.

But I digress from the William Henry topic...

Wm Henry build quality is excellent, and they make something for almost everyone in terms of small "gents" carry stuff. There is no accounting for taste... and for sure, some of their material combos are pretty loud to my tastes, but I've cherry picked a few that spoke to me and I dig 'em. And I like that they sandwich really hard ZDP-189 in a damascus sandwich, and their gold/copper washed damascus blade is pretty cool and uncommon.

Freq, just keep that WH man. It's a super nice blade and I am willing to bet your friends/coworkers have probably never seen. If it's small-ish then that just means it's perfect for daily office environment use. Sure is a lot better than a Vic
