William Henry knives?

personally, i find them like most of today's jewelry: Tacky and ugly IMO. Ive handled a few to see what they are about and I personally found them to be very very over the top. I cant stand the little gem stones and such.

I tend to find most art knives to be very ugly and not to my taste. I like simplicity in a blade, to me that is beautiful.

Just wanted to add, I like my ladies how I like my knives, natural and functional. I dont like a girl covered in makeup and jewlery, so much so she cant lift a box or go for a hike. In fact I cant stand makeup and perfume.

Like most things, different strokes for different folks.

Looks like you have one of the EDC blades there, how do you like it?

I think it is fantastic. It's just as sharp as my higher end WH's and the detail and fit are just as good. It is the WH I started with and is a fantastic knife. You put it in your pocket and forget it is there. They are small, light and fantastic to use.

The saga continues...

 yup...someone asks about a knife they are interested in I really don't think they want to hear about how other people think the blades are ugly or whatever.

Not for nothing, even if you hate the designs (I happen to think they are among the most beautiful knives made), for a company that makes production knives IMO the only way you can come close to the quality is to go completely custom.

So I purchased one of the EDC blades tonight. Just by running my thumb over the blade though, doesn't feel that sharp.

Running your thumb over the blade is an ignorant and dangerous way to determine sharpness. It is a good way to find out what the bone inside your thumb looks like.

These knives remind me of going to a restaurant where they put 30 things on your plate desperately trying to impress you with food in ring molds and and ingredient list a mile long.

If you have good ingredients you don't need to mess with it. Just keep it simple and refined and that is something I can appreciate. These WH knives just look gaudy and embarrassing.

I would tend to agree with you for the most part. I really don't like the knives crammed with as many exotic materials as one can fit on the knife. I like the knives with a less extravagant list of materials and have had a couple in my time. At the moment I have a carbonfiber friction folder with laminate blade that is actually a real nice wee knife, I have one of the Ti/ironwood money clips as well.

Let's see a pic of the knife you got ? It's always nice to see a few pics of nice knives. :)
I quite like the cocobolo EDC with the ZT style machine textured scales (I would like it even more if it was Ti and not Aluminium).

I have the cocobolo EDC. While it's not Ti it def does not feel cheap. If I understand correctly they wanted to keep the price as low as they could. They would not have been able to if they had made it Ti.

Have you had a chance to hold the E6 EDC? It has a different feel than there Ti handles, but thats not a bad thing. I was most surprised that it feels like it weighs next to nothing.

it IS sharp. very sharp. WH are the sharpest knives I own straight out of the box. And I will second what Esav said.

I actually had a look at/feel of one yesterday at my friends shop, It is indeed a fine knife but I have to admit I was turned off by the Ali handles (I just thought it was Ti untill I was informed other wise). :o

I have had a hankering for one of the WH Persians for a while but have never had a shot at one I liked, as yet.

Now I'm curious, would you have not liked it if it was the same design but used Ti? Or just disappointed that it was aluminum?

The shop I go to here has a persian that has been wanting me to buy it for a while now...I just have other knives on order and can't swing it at this point.

Soon maybe...

It's not that I didn't like it, I would just have prefered Ti over Ali. It's probably not a knife I would have bought either way but there was certainly nothing wrong with it.

I like that Persian, my friends shop has a Mokume and Ivory (not sure what type) with damascus. It is nice but just a bit busy for me. I want the Ti and ironwood one..........that's half the price. :p

I totally get that. But they wanted a knife that was considerably cheaper than what they were offering. Ti would have put the price up around 300-350, right in line with their other "cheaper" offerings. Ti would be nice though.

I've actually considered getting the 2 other versions...just to have :p

I'll have to take a pic of it when I get home.

FYI I bought the E6-2 EDC with elder burl inlay, paid $225 USD out the door. Good price?

Most expensive knife I have bought thus far by a longshot.

Quality seems good, but her pink native is nice too!

Debating if I will keep this or not, it might be a tad small. I think I am in love with the WH spearpoint, but $500 is expensive!

Anyone know how limited in quantity these blades are? Someone mentioned good resale if I decide to keep?

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a B-12 zdp Titanium... but at $400'n some odd dollars I think I'll pass. IMO a Mnandi is REALLY hard to beat and there is nothing "better" about WHs. ...but it'd be nice if CRK would do some in carbon fiber. The older liner locking Lancets and such ALMOST made it into my pocket but the liner had sharp edges on it... the exposed tang was sharp as well. It seems like the button lock has alleviated some of that, but I'd DEFINITELY want to thoroughly check one out before I'd buy it!

WH sets prices and the E6 retails for $250. So yea, $225 is good.

$500 is really nothing for one of their knives :p The last one I bought was $1000.

All their "production knives" are limited in the sense that they make 500 and then that design is discontinued. I looked at my blade and saw #16 not 16/500 so I'm not sure how they are going to run this one...and as long as you don't beat the hell out of it the resale is pretty good. Just hold onto the box and the paperwork that came with it.

WH is one of the only companies that competes with CRK for the Quality award at Blade show.

I've owned 4 different WH models, starting with the CF Liner-lock Lancet from years ago. Then a Pearl Spear point liner lock, which I traded up for a damascus pearl Lancet.

I finally settled on a Gen Tac with Ironwood and ZDP blade. LOVE that knife!:D

I've always wanted one of their autos, but haven't gotten around to it yet, as that's a lot of dough to drop all at once. My last WH cost me $500 out the door, and it takes a long time to save up that much money.

I carried my WH Titan BF 15 for 3 years daily. I love this knife, sharp light fast non-threatning. But after buying a Sebenza and later a Mnandi it lost it's EDC-place.

But I recommand it for everyday use! After three years it has a nice patina but is still as good as day 1.
