Wilson Tactical/Darrel Ralph folder

I went to Mr. Ralph's site and the $400 dollar model can be modified in any way you like, so I was wondering if I wanted a non-coated blade, non-anodized Ti frame with carbon fiber inlays, how much would that cost? Would it still cost $400? Basically I am down-grading, but only the $400 dollar models has options for modification...

Folks
Ryan and I will discuss the left hand version.
Give me some time to see if we can pull it off.

All the models can be upgraded. If you are upgrading to inlays you have to buy a elite 3 or 4. If not then a 1 or 2.
The modles stand as they are. When you upgrade you can configure then as you want.

Well... I handled one of these big boys a couple of days ago. Let me tell you, if you like big burly custom/productions this may be for you. It was smooth opening and locking with good ergos like most of DDR's stuff. Talk about filling the hand... wow.

I checked out the proto with G-10 that TallPaul has. You can see it on his site:

Good looking blade shape. But just too big for me. I like smaller ones like the small EDC. But if high end big folders is your thing this fits the bill.

Faith is being kept, Darrel :D Thanks for the update. I can't wait to get mine!

As timascus's comes down in price it may be posible.
With the priceing the way it is now and the size of the billets needed, it would cost $2000.00 for the material for the side plates.
In regular stainless damascus it would be about 400.00 bucks. It would be an investment with timascus!

The timascus looks like a good product. Hopfully in time it will be the same price stainless damascus.

The price of ti if bought in the right place should not be an issue. 10,000 pounds of titanium sheet scrap is 1.75 a pound for 6al4v. CP ti is even cheaper. Stainless for damascus is nine dollars a pound.

Time will tell. I think the knife is beautiful as is and am saving up for it (I'm almost there!). My favorite is the plain base model. I love the simplicity and the graceful lines.

 I could have my car crushed and offer you "Hondascus" for that money! Looking forward to seeing one of the new knives "in person!"

I need to clarify the price of Timascus. For a pair of scales measuring .150"x5.00"x1.50 the cost is $319.

Will this knife be available at Blade in two weeks? I like the look of the knife and would like to hold one in person.

I dont know where I was on your site a few weeks ago but the prices at that time were not affordable from me.
It look like you have updated the site.

The prices are much better!

The price quoted above is for what pattern?
Now you have my interest.

Darrel,

For you any pattern you want.;) We can even develop a unique pattern just for you.

Stop by our table (E27) at Blade. We are planning to have lots of Timascus available. Patterns currently available are:
Raindrop
Square Raindrop
Tire Tread (multiple shapes of raindrop)
Slow Twist
Ladder
Diagonal Ladder
Mixes of multiple patterns above

We forge the pattern into the one side of the billet. The other side is random pattern. This allows the maker to choose which side they want to use.
