The giveaway is a very nice thing you are doing.
On my part there is no apology necessary, I understand that things happen and I never have a problem when someone needs to cancel or postpone an order. I appreciate your thoughtfulness, but don't spend another second worrying about it on my account.

This is so generous of you to give that away. I am sure your going to make someone's day/week/year with that one. This is not a entry, as I have 2 Busse and 2 SwampRats. I bought my first Busse, a BATAC based a lot on the pics and feedback I got from you and my good friend Pete who sold it too me. Just wanted to comment on the good deed. :thumbup:
 
Not an entry, because I am not a serviceman. I just want to say that it speaks to your character that you'd make a public apology the way you did, and on top of that you would give away a beautiful knife like that.

currently none in hand as I traded my lone piece for a Boss Jack and the Post office is taking it's own sweet time getting it to me.
I would love to have a user so I could keep the other clean, but I have a buddy who has had an absolute sh*t last 2 years and I'd give it to him.

first he got laid off. 14 months later he finally got a new job and his MIL died -- THEN his wife got laid off. A month after that his daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes - the hard way - spending a week in PICU. Then to top if all off, 3 weeks after X-mas, he got laid off again.
and if it helps any, he's a vet, too.

last year I gave him an ESEE 3 because he needed some "outside time" while being laid off and didn't have a decent fixed blade. I helped him get a 4 in a 3 way trade, but he just recently gave his ESEE4 to a nephew in the marines because the EK bowie I had given the boy exceeded unit regs for blade length, so now he's down to 1 decent fixed blade and the Boss Jack would definitely see some carry time.

so, if you pick me, I will not keep the blade - but it'll be a "pay it forward" gift, not a sale.
 
GREAT IDEA! You are a heck of a guy, and someone is going to be very happy with that knife. I am not in a place to enter this giveaway, but it shows your true character and remember: what goes around comes around.

I do not misrepresent my character.

Secondly, I am in the 3 or less range.
This is by choice since I have traded to get what I have. I currently own an ASH 1, Original Run CG Dumpster Mutt and a Crash Rat.
The ASH 1 is the ONLY Busse I have ever handled. It's an awesome knife and a beast.
I would love to own a Boss Jack and wish I was in a position to order one from the store.

Eric, thank you for accepting my apology as that is yet another example of what being a HOG is all about, even if you are the Rat Daddy of them all. :p If I didn't apologize, I could never look you in the eye to shake your hand if we met at a show.

To all the HOG's and fellow Piglets out there as well as the Rats and Dogs, I truly appreciate your kind words, but what I really NEED is your help finding the right candidate. Everybody knows somebody, so I am asking for you all to help point out people who really NEED a Busse, even if they don't yet know it. I have already given a few away to my friends/family who would never buy one anytime soon for lack of financial ability. Now, I don't personally know anyone who needs one. It could be a friend or a family member of yours or your friend's. :confused: As long as you are willing to vouch for them being a good candidate, let's "Bring It" with the suggestions.

This is a great example of what I am trying to find. A lot of us WANT another knife, I know I'm guilty of it all the time, :o but someone who needs INFI without yet realizing it could be ideal. :thumbup:

Thank you for your honesty. For that I will add you to the list, but more likely than not, the NEEDs will come first. An ASH 1 has you covered in that department pretty well. ;)

I am starting to really like the idea of the poll so that the other members can help me decide. Now I know why these are usually done randomly. :eek: I didn't realize how tough this would be when I started out on this.
 
I've only got 1 Busse, but I've got a muk comin' too. I qualify, but I ain't hurtin', so this ain't an entry! This a real generous & thoughtful gift to someone! I know I'm just a piglet, but you're ok in my book!
 
Great idea man. I think that guy's buddy needs it. I vote for him. I bet we all know some people that could use one.
 
Tim, I think this is great. I don't have three Busses blades, and I like using my knives ar we discussed at the AG Russell show last summer. Saying that I am a educator, not a soldier and I get to enjoy fine enough things here at home. I applaud you on your give-a-way and hope that a deserving soldier gets the blade.

You are a true HOG in my mind,.
 
First off, I would like to tell you how generous and honest you are for making this thread.

Second, I will tell you that I am not in the Military. I would honestly love to own a BJ but, cannot afford one. I have never even seen a Busse/Swamprat/Scrapyard knife in person. I would like to make it clear that I am not in need of a knife, for I have a few KaBar Beckers and Cold Steel knives. If you can't find anyone better I would gladly accept the knife, but there are definitely people who need this more than me. I felt like I might as well make an entry anyways. Good luck with the search!! -Josh
