WINNERS CHOSEN! 5 DAY GIVEAWAY!!! User Challenge!

OK, I'm late getting to this thread, but I'd like to give this GAW a try.
2. I noticed that Chris is participating on my behalf, so I think it's only fair that I play for him.

4. BF has taught me that many times a knife is used as a "prop" in photos for various themed threads on The Porch...

LET'S GO, GT!!! The only thing you need to be concerned about it where you're going to "prop" that trophy!!🏆

OK, I'm late getting to this thread, but I'd like to give this GAW a try. I'll try to lay out some things that I'd like to do in my participation.

1. I'm going to use a Case chestnut jigged bone CV trapper that I got as a generous gift from 321Bandaid 321Bandaid on the day before Halloween. I've been using it as my primary food prep knife since November 1, so using it for the next 5 days shouldn't be too tough for me. What will be tough is that I don't often carry a full sized trapper, but I can certainly do that for 5 days, too, especially with a winter coat with big pockets.

3. Sorry, Chris, but you may not get the effort from me that you deserve! My daughter, her fiancé, and her dog arrived at our house from St. Paul MN last Saturday night, and they'll be visiting all week, including the 5 days of the GAW. We'll be trying to celebrate Thanksgiving, my birthday, and Christmas during that time, so I'll have more commitments than usual in terms of playing the gracious host, serving as a cooking and washing-up assistant, shopping for groceries, extra dog care, playing games and singing songs, and so on. I'm hoping I can still get some action shots of my trapper processed and posted throughout the week. (If I find myself running short on time for photos, I can always use some photos of the knife I took throughout November. Who's gonna know??;))

4. A word of warning about "use" of a knife. BF has taught me that many times a knife is used as a "prop" in photos for various themed threads on The Porch: Blades and Books, or Beverages, or Bling, or Food, or Tools, etc. So I'm very likely to use my knife in that way over the coming 5 days.

I fondly remember Mike's GAW. It must have been March 8-14 in 2020; it was the week that COVID became a thing to my city. I'd bought an Imperial Kamp King at an antique store on Saturday March 7, I think, and decided on Sunday to use it for Mike's GAW. Trying to document my use of the knife over that first week of trying to cope with COVID and its consequences was one thing that helped me keep from going nuts with anxiety over what the heck was a happening in the world!

Jon, this is a very generous GAW! I also love GAWs that require participants to actually actively participate beyond saying "I'm in."
Best wishes to all the participants; I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's action shots of their chosen knife!:thumbsup::cool:

Here's a Monday photo for me. We went to dinner on Sunday to a brewery that's French-themed, including French-Canadian, I guess. I (and my daughter) ordered poutine there, and I took some of mine home. I had it for supper tonight (Monday), but I wanted to add some vegetables to it when I reheated it. I used my trapper to chop up some fresh broccoli (and gave a few little pieces of broccoli stalk to 2 dogs who were sitting on the floor next to me, watching me like hawks).

I then added a little frozen corn and nuked the vegetables for a couple of minutes. I then added the left-over poutine, stirred it up, heated it, and ate it.

It tasted great, as did the Vanilla Bean Porter that I had for a beverage with my meal.

Nice to see you with the full size trapper, Gary. What a great pattern!

I’m in! Awesome giveaway and a fun idea!

Cut some chicken feed bags this morning with the new BF knife. Been carrying it since it showed up!

Awesome Taylor! We need a good ‘23 BF with heavy patina in the rotation this week 😎
Well, I haven't been very active here for a while, so this is not an entry for the giveaway (great idea, by the way), but instead just a fun way to participate. I will carry this Queen beauty all week:

Here is my first use, cutting an Asian yellow pear for a breakfast snack:

Have fun everybody!
Welcome in! You are free to join in the competition with the rest of us. Glad you are here with us for the week 👍🏼. I’ve got you down.

I'd like to play too please, great idea Jon! I'll be carrying this wonderful Albers lamb in Ironwood. I haven't carried a lamb much so this should give me some good experience with one. I'm calling it a lamb because I'm afraid to call it by the wrong name (lambfoot or lambsfoot?). 🤣 Oh man I also don't know if lamb needs to be capitalized! For shame, this is embarrassing!

Anyways, I started the week out great cutting open a new knife package.

I found one of those suggested labels 321Bandaid 321Bandaid and @ZHoovie mentioned. I sliced my sandwich with it afterwards, those funyun flavored chips are actually pretty good.

I left my water bottle in the freezer too long so I had to cut it open to fill my tumbler. There was simply no choice, crisis averted. And I shamelessly piggybacked onto @birdsbeaks awesome post for likes! 🤣🤣

Disclaimer: No little green army men were harmed in this post.👍
Now that’s a knife I have no problem gawking at all week. Thanks for joining in Pat!

Today at the grocery store I began wondering... can an Exec's large blade section an apple??? I bought a Gala to find out. Then well after sunset I sat down here at Blade Forum and saw this thread. I decided since I was experimenting with slicing an apple I may as well attempt to take a pic of the Exec at night. Thinking, if it works out I'll enter this GAW for @CelloDan.
This is the first pic I've taken with my phone's camera after dark using only ambient lighting. It turned out OK so please accept this an "I'm in" for my friend Dan.

Until today I've always used the Exec's large blade first, saving the smaller of the two for emergency appendectomies etc. ;) Truth be told, the Exec has never been called upon to perform any emergency medical procedures.
Tomorrow I'll test the large blade on an apple. If successful I'll switch to using the small blade first saving the large for food processing. 🤪 Thus the pic of Blue Exec's small blade with Ben Franklin in profile (eyes covered-incognito).
I’ll enjoy seeing the exec do all its tricks! Glad to see a few SAK’s in the GAW.

You had me at “un-x-ld” shield. Good to see you Paul!

Got in late tonight, but wanted to shoot in a little update of the day.

Lunch was a bowl of rice and beans (I promise) and then the lamb made quick work of an apple.

Tonight I took my bride to a Christmas concert- Pentatonix. Had a great time. No cutlery allowed of course.

Made a traditional cold and flue remedy - a black radish with honey. Get a big black radish, like two fists or more. Carve a hole in it, put a spoon of honey in. The radish then releases it's juice which gets mixed with the honey. Take a few spoons throughout the day. Add more honey. A decently sized radish lasts me about 3 days before all the juice is gone. It gets all soft and a bit wrinkled.

Tea, not coffee for me…out of my favorite mug. I wish I did like coffee. My boy Joseph loves trains 🚂.

That would be a favored cup here too - Southern Railway family (and ACL RR) on the wife’s side. Is that an E or an F in the picture, I cannot see the truck well enough to figure it out? (Very nice knife too!!). OH

Thanks for the kind wishes you guys...I had an ingrown toe nail partially removed on monday...it looks and feels like it got stuck in a mince grinder....so feeling a lot better now..
Well that's no joke :( Although...thought one of your giant Snakes had taken a nip...:D at least it's summer with you and that'll help the healing faster as it can get air. Here, feet are a likely candidate for frostbite or falling off:eek: Been down to -24.3C at the country place already and Jan-Feb is when you get the lowest temps. It's a reason I can't take part in this GAW, dark 20 hrs a day so pictures difficult and a bit monotonouso_O

Some great entries here and interesting 'knife acts' May the best knife win!
