WINNERS CHOSEN! 5 DAY GIVEAWAY!!! User Challenge!

Well, I held off from entering to see if a particular porchster would enter the GAW on their own. They haven't (unless I missed it), so I'd like to play in place of 5K Qs 5K Qs .

While the thoughts of carrying a single knife for a solid week is literally bananas, I'll have to go with the one below. Let's see if we can create a gift Rufus1949 Rufus1949 that keeps on giving!

Disclaimer: I spend 10-12 hours a day (six days a week) in an office (pray for me), so be prepared for some creativity.😬

Sounds like a very fun GAW and I am in (thank you!) I will EDC this Schrade USA 93OT Wrangler for the next five days (Monday - Friday) - its got the blades I depend on. OH

Clip + Sheep = everything you need and nothing you don’t. Solid pattern 👍🏼

If anybody wants to see what the porch is all about - point them to this thread. On a high level it’s about the knives, anything from a $20 SAK to a GEC forum knife that sells for hundreds. No customs yet 🤔
However, on a deeper level seeing the community interact with each other in such a positive way has been a bright spot for me.
I’m checking my mail box first thing tomorrow for the knife I will be using!
Thanks everybody.
Hoping the mailman treats you right my friend!!! Hoping for black box goodness tomorrow! 🤞🏼
I'll play. This is my EDC for the week.

Nice. I wonder if there will be more GEC Congress patterns on the horizon in ‘24 🤔

Very generous GAW !!!
I am in, thanks for the chance.

I generally tend to drift towards carrying smaller single blade slip joints.
I am taking this opportunity to tote a larger two bladed specimen for this week, may Case Trapper in amber smooth bone

I got it in 2018 when I was just getting into traditional pocket knives and had it delivered to our PO Box in the USA across the border.
My wife and I dropped our girls at the piano teacher that day and she drove us across the border to pick it up.

When the US custom officer asked her the purpose of our trip she sort of drew a blank, forgot it ... looked at me, at the officer, hesitated and then said "picking up knives?" not too sure of herself.
"What type of knives?" the officer asked.
She drew another blank, looked at me ... at the officer ... I answered for her from the passenger seat "Traditional slipjoint"

We were then sent inside  and she was asked a few questions and her biometrics taken.
Once satisfied that everything was just fine they let us go and off we were to the PO Box to pick it up.
She has never had any issues since then LOL :D

That's the story of this knife and I sticking to it :)

First order of business is and edge tune up :cool:

Beautiful bone on that trapper Dan! I wonder if the chickadees agree???

Ok, I realize that it’s a day early. Last night we had our one year old grandson for 6 hours. One of his favorite snack foods is green grapes. I grabbed a pile of them at the store, and they were pretty large- too large for his limited number of teeth.
So the lamb got duty halving them. Not tough duty, but important nonetheless!

A man’s gotta get patina going by any means necessary 👊🏼.

Welcome! Love the color on that 25!

I'm not in for the prize, just for the fun! Mostly I want to see if I'm capable of carrying and using the same knife for 5 days in a row! 😂
Thanks JonMcD JonMcD !
I'm putting this Boker Gent in my pocket right now!

I haven’t carried the same knife for 5 days in a row since Mike did a similar GAW in 2020. It will be a challenge for so many of us 😂😂😂.

After a lot of thought I decided on my no15,a nice easy pocket carry and a useful tool.

Glad to have you Johnny! Love the classic boys 15.

I'll start officially and get the ball rolling. It is 7.10AM Monday morning here, so this will be my carry for the week. Not my most expensive knife by any means, but one of my favourites. Love the blade, the covers and it had just good heat treatment. Takes a wicked edge and keeps it. Wish i had have bought a few from this batch. Have a good week everyone. 😍.

AND WE’RE OFF!

Great choice Leon!

Welcome in! Haven’t seen you around the porch until now. This is a great way to jump in. A GAW like this is how I really got hooked on the porch back in 2020. Great sowbelly!

Also helped me get some meat put away this afternoon. Broke down one tenderloin and one whole ribeye and vacuum sealed everything for the freezer. Camp knife didnt do the big cuts, but worked fine when a smaller knife was needed for detail work.

Goodness gracious Ellis. That beast looks amazing. That knife can do it all! 😃

😂😂😂. For you, creativity and humor counts way more than quality photography. Outside lighting need not apply for desk jockeys on this 5 day tour de force 😎.

Freeze them and then slice. Not sure what it is but they taste better to me.

I’m in. Thank you for the fun and generous GAW. It’s a lot of fun to see everyone’s adventures and which knife everyone picks.

What’s the age range of that Craftsman knife? That’s cool as heck.

I’ll be using this Case 65 pattern Folding Hunter. Here we are enjoying our church Thanksgiving/Christmas potluck.

Nice meal, and a great knife but have to say I'm shocked it's not a straight-edge......;):D
