Great examples so far!

Everyone remember (especially the new guys), this isn't a contest. Make your best knife, and have fun. Kiths are a chance for experienced makers to give back, and newer makers to learn. I remember being intimidated entering my first kith, but the experience was great. (I've had a few pms and e-nails asking if they were good enough, from people who make nice knives, no less. People I'd be happy to receive a knife from,)

Post pics as we go. It's inspiring to see what people come up with, and motivating. Keep the pics coming. I'm working on it between two other orders, so I'll get to it as I can. I'd like to get the hunter sanded this weekend. There is some nice ashi in that hamon I'd like to show off.

I might change up the blade and make it a hidden tang. Then bring the edge bevel back off recasio and do somthing like a wrought iron or stainless Gard.

That sounds great. I'm leaning against the longer knife, as the spine profile is not great. That's why it's been sitting in a drawer. I'll look closer and see if I can make it more pleasing to the eye. It should be a hell of a cutting knife though, hitachi white at Rc62/63.

Im thinking about finishing up the top one for this..these are all already hardened 1095 ...3/32 thick.

Nice looking stuff guys! I like those profiles Timos.
This may be over ambitious, but we're supposed to challenge ourselves right?

Ok since everyone is posting pictures. This is the wood I just got in for the scales I'm going to use.

So far I'm happy to see what people are bringing to the table, keep up the good work guys.

Plesanthill I like those scales. Reminds me of realtree camo

It sure blends in with the granite it's setting on. I'm anxious to put them on a knife. My first set of purchases scales. Took me 2 hrs going site to site to pick out a set. Will be nice when $$ isn't so tight I can but more than one set.

Not sure I'll be able to finish a kitchen knife as I have to move (and start a new job until my doctor clears me to drive again:rolleyes:) and may not have access to my equipment for the next 5 months... but I should be able to finish this smaller EDC blade if that's all right with y'all.;)
