WIP Massive Titanium Roller Bearing Frame Lock

I got your back, man. Literally, I'm number 6.

But I'm not worried as my bet is that no more than half will buy when the time comes. Goodness knows if I will have the money when the hammer falls.

On the other hand, having made one list of people wanting to buy in the order they signed up, I don't follow the logic of chucking it for another list of people wanting to buy in the order they signed up. What makes the second list better than the first? Would a third be better still?

I had to do it this way. The list has three main types of people populating it. First group of people want it. No care for cost or time frame. Second group of people want it only if its the right price/time. The third group are interested and might buy if they get their tax refund, planet align, pigs fly...whatever. Doing it as a pre order rush helps me weed out the lookers form the buyers and insures a smooth transaction. Plus I get a dozen emails a week asking about the list and if they have a chance etc, etc. This way it's fair. Brutal? Maybe. But fair.

Yeah you're probably right, some will flake. I'm not one of them. I don't have the cash atm seeing as I just spent about $1k on knives in the past week, but i'm good to go in a week or two. I also got a Flaherty I gotta scoop up. Just hasen't presented itself yet. Hope you have the cash when the time comes... pretty sure these'll go quick.

William, I've been following along, and I wish you good fortune on your venture. Just a thought though, I think your blade would look a lot better if your bevel didn't break the spine. Bring it up, leave 1/8th to 1/16th space to the spine. Gives a clean, professional look in my opinion. As I said, just a thought...

Thanks for the advice! Right now I'm experimenting with the swedge and will consider your advice.

I think you are on track. A swedge is needed on a blade that think. Some examples to consider are classic sheffield bowies, where the swedge and the grind meet at the tip, or a Randall blade, same thing. A bit difficult to do, but when done right they are a beautiful sight.

EXACTLY it does take some practice but makes a world of differnce and shows you know what your doing.

Slapped the blade in my vice and did some draw filing on the main bevels to get them true flat and work out any "chatter" in the rough grind. Next I went back to the grinder with a 120 grit ceramic and roughed out the swedge. I liked the look but couldn't help myself and ran the false edge all the way up the spine to the gimping. I really like the 1/32" line it carves on the spine. What do you guys think?

Maybe I'm the only one but everytime I get an auto notify about a reply and I see it's from you I run and get my CC thinking it's time to buy. Stop doing that!

It's like a fire drill. With that said, Good stuff! Can't wait for the real "alarm"

Just catching up in the progress. Looks fantastic!!!. Although I am lamenting the fact that I am low on the list. Lets hope that someone, or several people ahead of me decide the timing is just wrong. Muahahaha. I like the progress Will
