WIP (work in progress) Ken Erickson whittler

I've held back on posting on this one:eek: VERY nicely done tuttelage:confused:(spelling) and progression!! I have really enjoyed watching and as has been stated self-critique IS a sign of TRUE craftsmanship/perfection. I am a carpenter and perfection is my downfall:D wood is near impossible to get that way! Also I have worked in a smaller machine shop and steel is a bit more easy to repeat a precise process on;)!
Once again Ken thanks for taking the time to show us here HOW its done.:thumbup:

Ahhhh...that was nice! The knife turned out great and I know that anyone would be proud to pocket that one, flaws and all.

(PS...I never made a flawless knife)

Nicely presented WIP Ken! Lots of detail; many answers to questions I didn't know to ask!
Thanks for the effort! You've given us hours of your time, and it is much appreciated!

Well stated Mr. C!. I'm with Charlie on this too, Ken.

I too learned much in here and it has also been enlightening for me regarding all the man hours a slip joint like this takes takes to produce. I admire your skills, techniques, approach, perseverance and your patience regarding all the time you took here to explain it all to us with your camera and descriptions. You've given me a new appreciation for the craft of hand made traditional slip joints.

As I sit here and look at the picts , and marvel at my Erickson 3.5 EDC , I think to myself , your knives are a bargain for all the work , attention to detail and craftsmanship you put into them.

Thanks for the WIP thread.

Ken, I do not know how I missed this thread, but I did, :o , I do appreciate all the time you took to complete this project and the explanations of the processes and pictures. A job well done and thanks for pointing it to me by Rick in another thread.

Really nice stuff Ken. When is the Ken Erickson tutorial dvd on multiblade slipjoints coming out??? With your way of explaining things and your photography I suspect it would be a best seller.
People giving help on the site make it a great one.
