The Buck 110 is a certainly a classic and you can buy them in most of the large sporting goods stores like Gander Mountain, Bass Pro, Cabelas and so forth. I have two of them (maybe three). Carried a Schrade version for years as a work knife in the field in Texas and hunting. I picked up a USA Schrade last year as a nostalgia knife for me as I don't have the old one I carried for years in Texas any more. Could be just in one of the many boxes of junk I have too. The 110 is the kind of knife you would carry on your belt (pouch) out in the woods or on a hike. The current Schrades are not high quality and are all made in China just in case you start looking at them.

You probably should have stipulated that the knife be under $100 as that seems to be your max price point for now.

You can get the Spyderco Manix in blue and the Delica comes in many handle colors. I have a blue G10 Dozier Personal custom (fixed blade) with a modified wharncliffe blade that I like a lot Not suggesting that one for you due to price.

The difficulty in carrying fixed blades was mentioned back there somewhere. Some fixed blades are easier to carry than others. ;) Poorly lit cellphone pic:

As for the Bobbitts... Just because one woman (actually, I found references to three; two who did it and one who tried) cuts off her huband's genitals that means all women are out to do it? Trying not to step over a line here, but you can find way more news stories of wives being murdered by knife-wielding husbands than of men being castrated by their wives. I'm finding this incredibly frustrating and a tad offensive.

My boyfriend just got a small fixed blade with a really cool sheath..the color is an olive drab..it looks similar to this photo i am attaching below..it's a LT Wright Patriot:

Of course! Which brings me to the subject of "nail care." (Don't worry, its knife related...I will mention a SAK at the end, which seems to suffice).

I hate hangnails and those little flaps of skin get at the base of your nails...the ones that peel back agonizingly. (Ever see Black Swan?) Also those nasty gouges on the sides of your nail that give you hard little points that snag on everything too.

Anyway, I'm not a mani-pedi guy, but I do do a bit of routine nail maintenance. And I love the file on my Vic Classic on my keychain. I also use the toothpick to pick my teeth! Classy!

But, I would imagine someone who is even more interested in nail maintenance would find a Classic handy, or, even better a MiniChamp!

I have the same issues with my nails. Due to medications, my nails are striated and crack easily, so a scissors/blade/clipper of some sort is always with me. The toothpick is great too especially if you are like me and don't believe in brushing your teeth.

I thought the plain Fluted Ti was the first out. Took me all summer to get one in Stock while I had money. When did the Blue one come out?

I hate pink knives too, but blue is another story.

I really love the second blue one...very nice! They're all nice, but that one is my fav of the bunch. Thanks for posting, Jill. You've got a really nice collection there! And re the pink..yeah..pink just doesn't go with a knife. It's like Hulk Hogan in lacy women's panties with a pacifier... ugggh. LOL

no that's just my camo addict SAK knife...it's got just about everything on it you could need... flat head, phillips, wrench, magnifying glass, toothpick, tweezers, several sizes of knives, and more... :-)

I've been eyeing the camo SAK for a long time and might get one soon.

It was first then dropped for the plain.:D Too much trouble gettin it right according to Spyderco.

I love it. I am wanting to get the blue no 7 opinel...i don't know what it is about it.. but I thought i ordered it and it's still sitting in my cart on Amazon! It's got a nice leather strap on the end too.

Let's keep the topic about knives, not selfies, or other unrelated rabble. Meaningful discussion should drive this discussion, not pictures of a person in various poses throughout the day. Talking about knives requires no selfies.

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: You got that right!

Ugh. This is not going to come out right no matter what.

I like pink knives. To me it goes as well as pretty blue or yellow knives. Orange, purple, green, red knives. Not crazy about zombie green knives, though. I'll leave it at that. :)

Meh...my wife likes knives and will use some of mine in the kitchen but she doesn't carry one with her. She also doesn't carry one while hiking/camping. Like most everyone in the world, she never needs one. As much as I like to think I NEED a knife...the reality is that it's just dang convenient. I use my knives every day but I could easily go about my life with only having a chefs knife in the kitchen. I have yet to run across a story about "survival" in which the outcome would have been different with a knife. At least for the vast majority of camping/hiking in the lower 48. A knife helps but isn't the difference between life and death. Knife aficionados just like to believe it is.

If you routinely carry a knife in a hand bag of some sort, a fixed blade could easily be included in the hunt for the next knife. The easy and inexpensive answer to that is Mora. The Companion is one of my fav's.

Never underestimate a man carrying pink knives.
