WOO-HOO !!! My KITH Knife Arrived

you guys who have knives and dont have pics up yet shame on you lol

Yes I feel shame:o I figured out why my camera wouldn't connect to my computer, it had to do with the bad hard drive, but while I was chasing that I left the camera on and now the battery is dead:o It is charging right now so I should have something up tonight.

Mine was delivered to the recipient today... still waiting on mine, probably sitting at the border or something haha

OK with the camera problems, computer problems, and day to day speed bumps out of the way I was able to snap a couple of quick pictures off. Not the best pictures and they don't do the knife justice at all, but they do prove that the knife is here with me right now.

I have spent a great deal of time admiring this knife, but I have been keeping it hidden away from my friends so they don't ask if they can have it:p

I am hoping I can get the light box set up tomorrow and take some good pictures of it.

X2. Don't feel like the Lone Ranger bro...I can't remember the last time I've been so anxious waiting on a Christmas present!! I keep telling myself, "You're 46 man, get a hold of yourself!" It does little to control the little boy in me!!!

X3!! :D This is my most exciting present this year and I'm still waiting......It's not the most exciting because it's the only one or anything. My wife's parents are always very sweet and do something nice for me each Christmas, but I usually have to give some input and pretty much know what it is. This knife has me feeling like I'm ten years old again because it's a mystery and I can't wait to unwrap it and see it! That hasn't happened to me at Christmas for many years!

Merry Christmas everybody, and enjoy those blades!

Ok. I've had shows to do and work and...blah, blah, blah. Here's a couple pics of my knife and some venison tenderloins. I used the knife to cut them out and cut them up after they were so wonderfully grilled along with some fried taters. You can see the steam rising from the plate. It is making my mouth water thinking about how good that meal was. What is cool is that the blood helped etch it a little. Gotta love high carbon steel. KithLoin.jpgKITH Dinner.jpg

Thanks Stacy and Everyone for participating in this years KITH. Can't wait for the next one.

Ok, I finally got some pictures and uplaoded them. It's made from 1/8" 440C, and micarta for the handle scales. Add in a couple of mosaic pins and you have a really nice knife! I've been carrying it around the house and just trying to find stuff to use it on :)

I'm really happy with it,
Thanks David!

Ryan, the knife you received from Bill Akers, what kind of wood is the scales made from? They are very good looking.

Hey Walt,
The photos don't do the scales justice. He described it as "SUPER FIGURED STABILIZED SNAKESKIN SYCAMORE" Beautiful stuff for sure.

Thanks Ryan. I bought some Stabilized Spalted Sycamore scales and when they were finished they looked a whole lot like those of yours. Indeed were very good looking. I had one fellow tell me that if I could get some more that he would have me make a knife just for the scales. I have not been able to find anymore spalted or otherwise since then.

Yes go there, I think he still has a bit left. I bought a set of sycamore scales from him and while they looked good when I got them, once I started shaping them the pattern blew my mind:eek:

Bahaha it's funny... I could care less about what I got for my bday or what I'm getting for christmas... I REALLY want my kith knife to play with :D

I got my KITH Woohoo! Awesome knife Jonny. As all good knives it's better in person than the pictures. I'll post some of my own tomorrow. Thanks very much. Happy Christmas!
